In Japanese culture, red symbolizes strength, life force, and protection—often worn to ward off misfortune. The rhythmic, hand-dyed patterns of kasuri represent harmony in imperfection, echoing the philosophy of wabi-sabi, where irregularity and texture are celebrated as signs of life and authenticity.
When Kimono is white outside and red inside. They are most likely describing a lined kimono (awase) where the outer fabric is white and the lining (hakkake) is red.
