This is something I love! 😍😍😍
It’s famously called Jaipur Pottery and made in the beautiful state of Rajasthan in India.
Jaipur pottery are hand made ceramics, painted on with vegetable dyes and then glazed. This craft was brought to India from Persia and after combining with Chinese glazing technics, we have these beautiful handmade pieces.

As you might have noticed, I love terracotta items. 😍😂 It was lovely to see the amount of interest the terracotta items gathered at the sale on Saturday.
These cute little lamp holders come in two pieces and have excellent finish as you can see in the pics. They can be used indoors or outdoors.

Now, let’s talk Cross Stitch! 💖 I don’t know
a single person who doesn’t love this beautiful form of embroidery.
When I visited my grand mother in the village in the very south of India, I always met up with her very close friend from across the road. This lady made the most beautiful cross stitch pieces I have ever seen. I would sit and watch her work so skilfully, fully enamoured by the beautiful shapes coming to be. I must have been around 8 years old when I first fell in love with cross stitch. In fact this dear lady presented me a beautiful cross stitch of roses with a verse from my favourite hymn when I was around 15. This piece is on proud display in my home, now. 🥰
I guess what I’m getting at is that a properly done cross stitch piece can become a heirloom. 😃♥️
Once again from the Nilgiri mountain range in south India, this time we have bed spreads with cross stitch. Handmade by very talented deaf and dumb people who have been taught this beautiful art by the local nuns.

I was a typical city girl and I visited my grand mum in the village once a year. With that one trip, I thought I knew everything my province had to offer! 😁🫣
Years later I met my mother in law who took me to the Nilgiri mountain range where my husband was born and WOW!! What amazing crafts I was introduced to. 😍😍
The folks from the mountains are famous for their exquisite hand embroidery, handed down over generations from when the British ruled. This hand embroidery I noticed is now quite rare to find here in the UK.

The first batch of hand to share with you is on table runners.
Each piece is unique and so delicate. 💖

Moving to the northern part of India you come to Guajrat and these stoles are made in Surat, a city ever so popular for the sustainable silks (modal silk) and vegetable dyes are used to block printed the beautiful patterns you see on these stoles.
The beauty of these scarves is the softness and the way the silk flows. They definitely jazz up any outfit.

Whilst visiting my mum who lives on the mountains of Southern india I stumbled across this little cottage industry that made the most exquisite scarves and table wear. It was a very place run by nuns who had taught disabled people the art of embroidery. These pieces not only look lovely but have such a special
meaning to them. ♥️

The scarves are handmade and then embroidered upon. They are 92% fine wool and 8% cotton. The perfect addition to any outfit.
