This is the lovely Rich Burgundy with a hint of Raspberry! A lovely deep, rich colour that suits the velvety texture of these pom-poms beautifully.

The colour sits in between ‘Ruby Red’ and ‘Sunny Bordeaux’ by Valspar. It’s also very close to ‘Theatre Red’ by Little Green although the poms are slightly darker with more of a raspberry pink tone.

Beautifully luxurious and almost edible! These poms look gorgeous paired with the chocolate brown and rich pink colours featured in the Royal Dragon Tapestry Kit in Pink & Chocolate.

Colour match time!

Here’s the gorgeous Moss Green pom pom trim with just a hint of olive. I’ve found that the Farrow & Ball ‘Bancha’ and Valspar ‘Dance with the Wind’ to be a close match. Bancha has slightly more yellow pigment than Dance with the Wind which I find more ‘grassy’ in comparison. Both are good though.

On receipt of some fabulous wallpaper samples from Little Green I found that the Moss Green colour is a brilliant partner for this Brooke House Cloth colourway. It looks fabulous with pinks of all shades and hues and is so uplifting and fresh.

Also shown with the Peacocks of Versailles tapestry cushion, an idea for a double row of Poms!

Have I waxed lyrical enough? I could go on……

Colour match time!

With so few haberdashery stores on the high street, it's so difficult to see the colours of trim, fabrics or wools available. With this in mind, I'm putting together a collection of references for colour. I'm aiming for the nearest I can get, similar in tone or just in the region of.

I hope these will be useful, I would love to know your thoughts.

For this Antique Pink Pom Pom Trim, The Fruit Fool by Farrow & Ball is a very close match, and so is the Ceremonial Ochre by Valspar.

If you ever get a chance to visit Wales, it’s well worth visiting St David’s, it’s not only the smallest city in the UK, but really beautiful too!

I couldn't resist these pink tulips as they are a perfect match for this fiery beast! This Royal Dragon in Chocolate and Raspberry has been blocked, piped, backed and stuffed! I think it looks rather splendid. If you feel the urge to stitch one yourself, I have some available in both a 10hpi and a 12hpi printed canvas, lots of lovely and full instructions. Beautifully packaged, and with a very useful jute bag for storage. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Lovely new stamp for my packaging! Thank you such fun! I’m becoming a bit obsessed now and looking around for more things to stamp… very satisfying! It might just be me but I really love the inky ‘shlupp’ sound when the stamp lifts off the card!
