One for my fellow trimmers.

I love my skiver, but I also found my machine very frustrating.

Several things niggled me, but top of the list was the fact the adjuster for the bell knife fouled on the table as you wound it, well your hands did anyway, which made adjusting it to sharpen properly a chore.

I've also wanted to bin the entire original table off for some time as it's a terrible design and leaves a load of wasted space beneath it, a no no for me in a workshop where every inch counts.

I picked up this metal cabinet off marketplace and chopped and welded it to suit both the skiver and my 3d printer filament storage. I binned off the skiver pedal and linkage and mounted the switch directly on the bottom of the cabinet, which just meant extending a few wires.

I can now adjust the bell knife stress free and maintain a nice sharp blade for effortless cuts. Happy days.

GTi+ panel set with red stitched detailing and winder delete heading out to France, customer supplied original GTi moulded rear panels for us to retrim. Matching Nappa fab grabs for the B pillars finish the job off nicely.
