Hi, I’m Sally, the founder of Adorn Home Styling, and I’m here to help you turn your house into a home—a space that feels like an extension of who you are. We spend around 60% of our waking hours at home, so it’s no surprise th

at we all want our surroundings to feel comfortable, joyful, and a reflection of our personal style. But let’s be honest—creating that perfect space isn’t always easy. Maybe you’ve felt this way:

“I don’t even know where to start with styling a room.”
“I love certain pieces, but they just don’t seem to work together.”
“I buy things on impulse, thinking they’ll fit, but they never feel quite right.”
“I’d love to add colour, but I’m scared of getting it wrong.”
“I wish I could put colours and styles together like in magazines, but without the hefty price tag.”

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and that’s exactly why I created Adorn Home Styling. I know how overwhelming it can be to navigate endless design trends, colour schemes, and furniture choices, especially when you’re trying to stick to a budget. That’s where I come in. Not as someone who takes over your space, but as your creative partner, working alongside you to bring your vision to life. Unlike traditional interior designers who often focus on structural changes, renovations, and big-budget projects, I specialise in interior styling. This means no builders, no mess, no expensive overhauls—just smart, thoughtful design that works with what you already have, enhanced by carefully chosen colours, fabrics, furniture, and accessories. Designing Together to Bring Your Vision to Life

My role is to guide and inspire you, helping you make confident design decisions that reflect your style and suit your space. While I don’t carry out decorating, DIY, or installation work myself, I’ll provide clear, detailed recommendations that you (or the professionals you choose to hire, like decorators or carpenters) can bring to life. Think of me as your design partner—we collaborate to create the vision, and you decide how to make it a reality. Here’s what makes Adorn Home Styling different:

You’re always in control. We’ll collaborate every step of the way, ensuring your personality shines through in every detail. It’s your style, not mine. I’ll help you interpret your ideas, even if you’re not sure where to start, so we create a space that feels right for you. Flexible and budget-friendly. Whether you want to transform a whole house or refresh a single room, we can work in stages to suit your time and finances. No ‘one-size-fits-all’ solutions. Every project is tailored to your needs, with a focus on functionality, comfort, and style. Whether you’ve just moved into a new home, are planning a room makeover, or simply want to fall in love with your space again, I’m here to help. Based in Shropshire, I offer in-person consultations locally and virtual styling sessions wherever you are. Book a complimentary consultation with me—no pressure, just a friendly chat about what inspires you and how we can create your happy place together.

Texture changes how a room is perceived…

Our brains don’t only read a room visually. We also make quick assumptions about comfort, warmth, quality and depth based on the surfaces we can see.

That’s why texture is so important.

A room with only smooth, flat surfaces can feel cold or unfinished, even if the colours and furniture are just what you wanted.

So by introducing a mix of finishes, the space starts to feel more layered and considered.

Think:

+ Linen against painted walls
+ Wood grain beside smooth ceramics
+ Rattan near soft upholstery
+ Ribbed glass next to a glossy tile
+ A wool rug over hard flooring
+ Brushed metal with natural stone

These contrasts give your eye more to respond to.

So if a room feels like it’s missing something, the answer might not be another colour, another print or another decorative piece, it might simply need more variation in texture.

Any guesses as to what this is? 👀

At first glance, it looks like a beautiful tiled feature...
(it technically is)

But it’s actually a shower seat. 🚿

It’s one of my favourite design decisions and is such a lovely example of how accessibility and style can work together.

Practical design choices don’t have to feel clinical, cold or like an afterthought. When they’re considered properly, they can blend into the space beautifully and add to the overall feel of the room.

The warm tones, rounded shapes and textured finish here help create a shower space that feels welcoming, comfortable and carefully thought through, while still serving a really important purpose.

Good design isn’t just about how a home looks, it’s about how it works for the people living in it.

There’s nothing better than helping a client create a space that feels exactly right for them, their brand and the people they serve.

This beautiful treatment room was designed for a brand-new body sculpting business, with the aim of creating a warm, inviting space where clients would feel comfortable from the moment they walked in.

From sourcing and ordering decorative items to bringing the final look together, every detail was chosen with the client’s vision, budget and business goals in mind.

A huge thank you to Arlene for such a kind review:

"I had the most wonderful experience working with Sally as she brought my vision of a warm inviting treatment space to life for my brand new body sculpting business.

She understood what I wanted the space to convey and brought my ideas to life beautifully. She did the sourcing and ordering for all of the required decorative items and furnishings and even completed the assignment for less than my budget! Sally was an absolute joy to work with and I wouldn’t hesitate to call on her interior design services again.

Sally is knowledgeable, professional and personable. I highly recommend her skills and expertise. I can’t thank you enough, Sally!"

A family living room that needed to work harder, feel warmer, and make sense for real life.

With two busy parents, four young children, and an extension planned in the next 12 to 18 months, this wasn’t about throwing everything at the room. It was about making smart, strategic changes that would transform how the space felt and functioned without overspending.

The layout was the biggest challenge. With the door sitting right in the centre of the room, the space felt awkward and disconnected, so we swapped the functionality of each end to improve the flow and create a stronger focal point as you walk in.

A few clever changes made a huge difference:
• changing the door opening
• replacing the long radiator with a tall one
• freeing up space for a new sofa
• working with existing pieces like the navy curtains and blue tub chair

For the colour palette, we warmed up the cold grey walls with Farrow & Ball Skimming Stone, colour-drenched across the walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Then came the bold berry sofa, rich browns, navy accessories, and layers of charcoal, gold, and texture through the rug and artwork.

The final result feels warm, practical, contemporary, and lived-in.

A family space that finally works.

A home should never feel like it belongs to someone else.

That’s something I come back to again and again in my work.

And when you work with a home stylist, the last thing you want is for them to strip away your personality, hide the sentimental pieces, or make every room look like it’s been copied and pasted from a catalogue.

I take the time to understand you:

• The colours you’re most drawn to
• The pieces you already love
• The corners that need to work a little harder
• The feeling you want when you walk through the door at the end of the day

I help you create a space that feels considered, cohesive and beautifully you.

The kind of home that looks lovely in photos, yes, but feels even better to live in.

If your home doesn’t quite feel like “you” yet, I can help you work out what’s missing.

Send me a message and let’s work it out together 🙌

Buyers spend an average of just 25 seconds deciding whether a home feels right when browsing online, according a survey from Purplebricks ...

So before they’ve booked a viewing or started imagining where their own furniture might go, the photos have already done a lot of the talking (or judging)

In this recent project, the room already had beautiful natural light and a lovely sense of warmth, so the styling choices were all about helping buyers notice that.

If your home is full of natural light, think about where it falls and arrange the space so it has room to shine. Pull back curtains or blinds, clear anything blocking the windows, and let the brightest parts of the room do their job.

Here, the warm terracotta throw, soft cushions and textured table setting help bring the space together and echo the warmth from the setting sun.

The plant by the window and styled dining table also help buyers understand how the room could be used, without making it feel overly staged.

When you’re selling, you’re not just showing people a room, you’re giving them a feeling to remember.
..

Thinking of selling? Send me a message and let’s talk through how to get your home looking its best before the photos and viewings.

British summer has arrived in its usual dramatic fashion.

But did you know that your home styling can make a real difference to how your space feels in hot weather?

The fabrics, layout, window treatments and even furniture placement can all affect heat, light and airflow.

A few things worth thinking about:

🪶 Lightweight curtains or blinds can help soften harsh sunlight without making the room feel dark and closed in.

🍃Natural fabrics like linen and cotton tend to feel cooler and more breathable than heavier synthetic textures.

🛋️ Moving furniture away from windows, radiators and narrow walkways can help air move more freely through the room.

✖️ Swapping out heavy throws, dark cushions or thick rugs for lighter textures can instantly make a space feel fresher.

Even the way a room is styled can change how it feels. A cluttered room often feels warmer and heavier, while a more open, balanced layout can feel calmer and cooler.

Good styling isn’t only about how your home looks. It’s about how it works for real life, including those rare but intense British heatwaves when nobody knows what to do with themselves.

Do you know how to describe your interior style?

Most people know what they like when they see it, but putting it into words can be much harder.

You might love calm neutrals, rich colours, natural textures, vintage details or clean, simple spaces.

Once you understand what you’re drawn to, choosing colours, furniture, fabrics and finishing touches becomes much easier.

Not sure where to start? I can help.

A kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom will never feel exactly the same...

Nor should they.
It's not what this client wanted (or needed).

But there’s a clear thread running through each of these rooms:

✦ The use of colour
✦ The tone of the artwork
✦ The carefully chosen accents
✦ The balance between 'character' and 'calming'

Yes, each room has its own purpose, mood and practical needs.

But carefully considered details help each space feel individual, while still creating that lovely sense of cohesion throughout the home.

Even when we’re focusing on one space, I’m thinking about how it sits within the wider home.

A home doesn’t need to match from room to room to feel beautifully connected. It just needs thoughtful choices that help everything feel like it belongs.
