Jennings Rugs Jennings is an established family-owned business that has been selling handmade Oriental rugs since 1960. Large stocks held in our Tewkesbury Showroom

The business was started by Jack Jennings in the summer of 1960, he always had an interest in the east and used his knowledge thru travel to set up this exciting business. Clare his daughter now continues this family tradition. People are always amazed at the diversity and selection at Tewkesbury, often surprised, as it is so unusual outside London, to find so many hand Knotted pieces. The carpets are from Iran, (Persian) Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kashmir and India. Most pieces are produced using traditional home spun vegetable dyed wool. The silk pieces we have are either from Iran or Kashmir, traditionally knotted and beautifully detailed.

Every shade of wool carries inherited knowledge, refined over generations of craftsmanship. Dyed by hand using natural tannins and vegetable extracts, the wool is carefully prepared in traditional dye baths, creating the rich, layered palette that defines the collection.

The concept of the sixth wall refers to the use of bold, statement colours or coverings as a basis for home decor planning.

Initially referring to the use of paint colours to pull across statement colours and patterns to ceilings and floors, at Jennings we believe this idea ties in with our ethos that rooms should be designed from the ground up – starting with the rug.
