Breastfeeding Awareness Week
10 days of breastfeeding my beautiful boy. 🤍
10 days of tiny hands resting on me, sleepy feeds, cluster feeding, leaking milk, overwhelming tiredness… and a love that somehow grows with every feed.
There is something so incredibly powerful about breastfeeding. My body grew him for nine months, and now it is continuing to sustain him. What an extraordinary thing the female body can do.
And yet, in just 10 days, I’ve already experienced people being uncomfortable enough with me feeding my baby in public that they chose to leave a café.
It's sad that something so natural can still make people so uncomfortable.
Because there is nothing shameful about feeding a hungry baby. Nothing inappropriate. Nothing that needs to be hidden away.
So I’ll keep feeding him. In cafés. On park benches. In restaurants. Wherever he needs me.
Because he won’t always need me like this.
And one day, when these feeds are just a memory, I know I’ll wish I could have one more. 🤍
