We had a fabulous time at Thetford Open Studios recently and About Thetford Magazine have done a wonderful job capturing it both in the hard copy magazine and here online. Thanks to all of our makers and artists for making it such a brilliant event. We will be sharing more over the coming weeks so keep your eyes peeled! ๐Ÿคฉ

More than 700 visitors met local artists, watched creative demonstrations and tried new skills as Leaping Hare's Thetford Open Studios returned for five days at its new, larger venue.

We were delighted to be invited along, and you can read our write-up in October's About Thetford and online ๐Ÿ‘‡

โœจ NEW MAKER ALERT! โœจ

Say hello to Clare Lamberti of Ceramika, the latest maker to join us here at Leaping Hare! ๐Ÿ’š

Clare creates colourful porcelain pendants and earrings, individually made by hand, with surgical steel posts used for her earrings.

Clare has been making for around eight years. Her creative journey eventually led her to learn pottery, where she discovered a love of working on a smaller scale โ€” and to the gorgeous little ceramic pieces we now have here at Leaping Hare. Her long-standing love of collecting sea glass (something sheโ€™s done since childhood!) was part of that journey too.

Today, colour is at the heart of her inspiration, resulting in these wonderfully bright little pieces of wearable ceramic art. ๐ŸŒˆ Her particular favourites are her heart pendants โ€” although we suspect everyone will have their own favourite once they start looking!

Clare also summed up something we feel very strongly about at Leaping Hare: locally made pieces simply mean more. They aren't throwaway purchases โ€” thereโ€™s a maker, a process and a story behind them.

Weโ€™re delighted to have Clareโ€™s porcelain jewellery in the shop. Swipe through for a closer look โ€” and, of course, pop in to see the full selection for yourself! ๐Ÿ’š

A COUPLE OF SPECIAL VISITORSโ€ฆ

We were delighted to welcome Terry Jermy MP - South West Norfolk to Thetford Open Studios on Saturday, followed by Mayor of Thetford, Cllr Vic Peters, and Mayoress Joanne Peters on Sunday.

And they didn't just come along for a photograph!

Terry spent time meeting our artists and makers, exploring the work around the Hall โ€” and even having a go at the spinning wheel during Spinning Saturday.

On Sunday, Vic and Joanne toured the Hall too, chatting with our makers, looking at their work and discovering some of the different techniques and processes behind it.

It was lovely to have the opportunity to show all three of them just how much creativity there is in and around Thetford โ€” and, more importantly, to introduce them to some of the people behind it.

Thank you Terry, Vic and Joanne for taking the time to come and see us.

Our invitation all week was Come & See How It's Made โ€” and they certainly did! ๐Ÿ˜Š

LAST DAY! ๐Ÿ’—

Somehow, we've reached the final day of Thetford Open Studios 2026 โ€” and there's still plenty to come and discover.

We're open again today from 11amโ€“5pm, with work from our artists and makers filling Thetford Methodist Hall, people to meet, conversations to have and creative processes to discover.

If you've been meaning to come and see us, today's your last chance.

Have a wander, meet some of the people behind the work, find something that catches your eye โ€” and enjoy our final day with us.

It's been a wonderful few days at our new home, and we'd love to see you before the doors close at 5pm.

SPINNING SATURDAY IS HERE! ๐Ÿ‘

Today we're making a little more of one of the traditional skills that's been part of Thetford Open Studios all week.

Christine Sanderson of Hullabaloo is being joined by fellow spinners today, with more wheels in action, fleece to discover and a tabletop loom too.

Come and watch, ask questions, discover how fleece becomes yarn โ€” and have a go at the spinning wheel yourself.

And that's just part of what's happening around the Hall, with art and making, demonstrations, displays and plenty of people to stop and chat to.

When we said you could have a goโ€ฆ we meant it! ๐Ÿ˜„

We were delighted to welcome the High Sheriff of Norfolk to Thetford Open Studios yesterday โ€” and it wasn't long before Christine Sanderson of Hullabaloo had him sitting at the spinning wheel and trying it for himself!

And if this has whetted your appetite, Saturday is the day for anyone curious about spinning. ๐Ÿ‘

For Spinning Saturday, Christine will be joined by fellow spinners, with more wheels in action, fleece to discover and a tabletop loom too.

You can watch, ask questions, discover how fleece becomes yarn โ€” and have a go at the wheel yourself.

And remember, Thetford Open Studios is open until Sunday too, with plenty more art, making and creativity to discover.

Come & See How It's Made.
