Hello All, my name is Sarah Pitcher and I have been sewing for almost 20 years. I got into quilting when I was about to graduate from high school and then dived in full force when I moved across the world to live in Okinawa, Japan with my husband. After several years in Japan, we traveled back to the states, moving two more times, and now currently are back across the ocean living in the UK. Along the way I have enjoyed exploring different techniques and styles of quilting. I eventually landed on Foundation Paper Piecing and enjoyed the amount of detail you could get with it, unlike traditional quilting. I wanted stuff that was so unique, I couldn’t find patterns anywhere. Naturally, I found a way to design them myself. After years, people started asking to buy them, and then years later people started asking if they could get a specific pattern designed by me for them! I have enjoyed making commissioned pieces of animals, families, logos and characters. I also still create regular patterns and post them on my Etsy and website. Feel free to check them out at:

Today we get new flooring and hopefully be done with this mold and other issues. I’m so ready to just settle in and stop with this emotional rollercoaster. We get to climb through our window for the day, as we can’t walk on anything other than the carpet.
This move has honestly be the worst move ever. Is this the end of the chaos, the frustrating issues? Let’s hope so!

NOCTURNAL NOOK BLOCK 7

This months block is number 7! This block has 43 colors and 68 sections. You can use scraps, selvages, text fabric or small images for your books to create a more unique and personalized options. The plant fabrics are the same from block 9, and will connect! The wand from block 8 will finish in this block so be sure to have those fabrics ready.

As a witch or wizard likes to keep track of their lives, writing but also reading, they use their ink pen to do so. A special visitor is also joining in on these books to say hello.

Why have I been MIA? oh just a massive move from the UK to the USA! Then when we arrived at our new base, we found a place to live, only to move in and find mold, water leaks, 2 bathrooms with no hot water, and a washer machine with ONLY hot water. I want to cry.
This move has been a nightmare and after a WEEK, none of this has been dealt with!
Wondering if I need to get the city inspector involved because the amount of sneezing, cough, congestion, exhaustion and weakness that I have had since moving in is insane.
I wonder if I should call this rental property out to get some work done because being immune compromised means I am massively affected by this gunk.

On the road again!

2 day trip to our next base. Car is loaded with kids, dog, husband and luggage! It’s a full car and we have decent 70 degree weather to drive in which is perfect to drive in!

Nocturnal Nook Block 3
This month we are adding block 3 where we see out the last window in this quilt; we can see the moon is shining bright, and in this witchy dark night we see the bats calmly flying over the shadows of the tree tops.

This month we can sew block 3 to block 4, then we can sew those to the top of block 5 and 6. It’s so exciting to see this quilt slowly come together!

Nocturnal Nook Block 3

Today we said goodbye to a house that felt more like a home than any others we have had in the past. Here we watched our two boys grow into teenagers, we watched Lily 🐕 get older, we said goodbye to Kuro 🐈‍⬛, and after adopting Zoey 🐕 and Bailey 🐕 here, we sadly and unexpectedly said goodbye to them as well. My small business had one of its highest producing years to date here and my quilting community has grown 10 times over here.
As I close my eyes tonight, I recall all the travel, museums, shops, train rides, food, history, quilt shows, school functions, military friends, family visits, Disney Paris and so much more… the amount of love I have for the UK is enormous. I know new adventures await and our next chapter will be made with amazing experiences and memories, it’s just hard to close this chapter.
I hope to come back one day, because when you leave and all your friends are locals and zero of them are military spouses; you know visiting will be like coming home again.
And with that, I am headed to bed, and tomorrow we will be back in the states.
