Welcome to Yorkshire Sitting Pretty; I hope you find something that you like or inspires you. I am an official stockist of Frenchic Furniture Paint; a fantastic environmentally friendly chalk paint. Frenchic comes in 40 beautiful colours and doesn't contain any hidden nasties. It is so easy to use and the results are amazing! I am an enthusiastic up-cycler who enjoys the challenge of creating original, one-off pieces. As well as working on my own furniture I also accept commissions from clients who want a new look for an existing piece of furniture. I have a number of vintage items in my workshop that are ready to be painted but if necessary, I can source items for you. Upholstery is my passion and I enjoy nothing better than rescuing an old chair and giving it a new lease of life! Have a look at my ‘Before & After’ album to give you an idea of what can be achieved with time and patience. I am holding traditional and modern upholstery workshops as an introduction for those wanting to learn the craft. I am also running lampshade making courses. Frenchic workshops coming soon too!! My question to you is...why do I try to sell things that are difficult to photograph? 🤣

Here I am struggling to find a way to show you just how mahoosive this bauble is! Trust me when I say, it's the biggest bauble I have ever seen! 🤣

It consists of two parts that fit together so you can decorate inside first and glue the two sides together or you can glue the two sides together first and then decorate or you can just fill it with Christmas goodies and not glue it....the choice is yours! 🎅

🎅How is your Christmas crafting coming along? Well I have exciting news!

🎅 I have managed to get hold of some mahoosive acrylic baubles and medallions which are heading to my website. I need to get some good photos first but I wanted to give you a heads up that they are available.

🎅 This medallion is 16cm in diameter! It’s a whopper! The giant baubles are 20cm in diameter! They’re nearly as big as my head! 🤣

🎅 The medallions are £10 each and the giant baubles are £12.

🎅 I’ll get some more photos to share tomorrow.

Calling all my lovely crafty, creative crackle fans!

Pentart Fineline Crackle is back in stock and on my website. Hurray! 🥰 My little pot picture is a reminder of just how lovely the crackles are with this product ❤️

Remember to never, never, never use a water based sealer over the top of this crackle. If you do, you’ll end up with, what I can only describe as, a gloopy mess! 😲

Pentart make two solvent based varnishes that work perfectly with this crackle (also on my website) 👍

If you’d like to try a new water-based crackle product, have a look in my Paint Couture section. The thicker you apply Step 1, the bigger the crackles. No need for solvent varnish with this one, water-based Extreme Guard will do the trick! 👍

Hello! Hope you're having a wonderful, relaxing Sunday (and not moving hay bales about like me!) 😆

I'd like to ask for your help. I love this mould but I just don't know what to use it on! How have you used yours? 🧡

When I first saw the horn of plenty design, it reminded me of elegant motifs on beautiful decorative plaster panels that you see in stately homes. Then I saw a lady on YouTube using it as a stalk for a pumpkin decoration... well my mind is well and truly boggled! 😵‍💫

Any suggestions will be gratefully received! 🧡

A little postage update 💛

From 1st November, my free postage threshold will be changing from £50 to £60.

It’s not a change I've made lightly. In the last eighteen months there have been price increases, not only from Royal Mail, but also from many of my suppliers too; I've absorbed these extra costs so as not to pass them onto you. This small adjustment will help me to keep product prices the same whilst still offering free postage.

Until then, you can still enjoy free postage on orders over £50.
