About This Artwork
On 4th August 1962, Marilyn Monroe (born, Norma Jeane Mortenson) sadly passed and away the world lost a global superstar and icon. "Monroe 60" is a tribute to the life and work of Marilyn Monroe as we mark the 60th anniversary of her death (4th August 2022) and has been produced in an updated and far more vibrant edition compared to previous sell out versions (Grey [75], Blue [15] & Pink [5]) released a few years ago. The use of a black background when combined with a heavy think ornate black frame, reminiscent of an English Victorian "mourning" surround, completes this homage to Monroe by accentuating her fresh, youthful and seductive gaze. About The Frame: This artwork has been professionally framed using POLCORE MOULDING (using 70% recycled materials), NON-REFLECTIVE GLASS and a CORRI COR BACKBOARD. More details can be seen in the penultimate (2nd to last) photo. Ready to hang.

About The Artist
Rourke Van Dal (aka Craig Everett) is a long establish UK based urban artist who has successfully established himself in the global art market, under both of the afore-mentioned names. Craig has exhibited in London, New York, Los Angeles, Boston and Cape Town to name a few. You only have to look at the diverse back catalogue of works that Craig has produced over many years to appreciate that he is a true master of his trade and a commercially successful artist who continues to surprise us by utilising new subjects and themes that elevate his works to higher levels. Yet despite not having gone to any notable art school (just like so many urban artists) his years of dedication and development have produced a series of different styles from old master portraits to modern urban and contemporary works that have seriously great eye appeal. Many urban artists will employ 3 or 4 colours with their stencil works, but few take it to 7 colours as Craig does. Obviously, this extra detail and time that he commits to stencil art can also be seen in other works that enhance the imagery to a level that is at the highest level.
The Sirens Series by Rourke Van Dal focuses on notable and iconic females who have stood out for not just their beauty, but for the part they played in history. "Monroe 60" is launched not only at a timely moment in which we can reflect on the life and success of Marilyn Monroe, but also as a time where Craig's works are fetching "above estimate" in UK auction houses, namely Halls Timed Auctions from auction results in May 2022. A grey Monroe (edition of 75) recently sold at a UK auction house for only a little bit less (when buyer's premium and fees are added) than this one will cost you new! The world is starting to wake up to the fact that his work is incredibly good value for money and highly regarded around the world by collectors and investors alike.
POSTAGE TERMS
Being big and fragile I would prefer to hand deliver this framed artwork in person, so delivery costs are quoted at £60.00 (this will vary depending where you live, so it could be more or less than this figure), however, we will need to agree a mutually agreeable time and price in respect of delivery.
I am happy to deliver this artwork to your door anywhere on the UK mainland. Having delivered the art, should you choose to change your mind, then that is fine. I will accept the return of the artwork there and then, and will only charge for my round-trip journey (petrol plus zone charges and toll fees - to be agreed in advance). The listing will show a 14 day money back return as there is no option for what I have suggested above, but this is not the case and my returns process has been stated here.
Alternatively, you may pick this item up in person from Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. Again, if you decide that you don't like the artwork, then I will accept it back and issue a full refund there and then.
