JonoKnife: the best bread knife! Using an age old fiddle bow bread knife design: this bread saw cuts

Handcrafted on a small farm in the English countryside; the JonoKnife is inspired by an age-old bow bread saw or fiddle bow bread knife design from the Appalachian Mountains in America. The Sheffield made tensioned scalloped blade is about 6X thinner than a conventional bread knife blade. For this reason it slices soft and fresh breads with hardly any pressure and will cut hard crusty bread like sourdough easier than what you could imagine! It’s available in a variety of woods and comes in left and right handed versions. Sealed with food safe mineral oil and shipped standard with a free magnetic saftey cover, the Jonoknife is an afforable and lifelong bread slicing solution.

The wonderful people at sent me one of their knives to try. We do go through a lot of bread, pastry, and other baked things in this house. I also absolutely dislike dull knives. I grew up in a house where knives were always sharp - no squashed tomatoes. Ever. So I was very happy to give this one a spin!

First impressions:
🔪 It is a bread saw and not a traditional looking knife so it catches the eye!
💡 It is very light and doesn’t need the same pressure as a traditional bread knife, so would be great for anyone who struggles to use a knife.
🍞 I was also able to slice super thin sourdough slices with it - and I am never able to do that with my normal bread knife.
🇬🇧 It is made here in the UK, so ticks my boxes for locally sourced.
🔄 And this is one of my favourite bits - offers a blade replacement service, so this knife will last you a lifetime!
🧲 It comes with a magnetic blade guard, so can be stored in the kitchen drawer!

All in all - if you are after a great gift for the bread lover in your life - this one is absolutely brilliant! 💎🎁

Enhance Your Bread Slicing Skills for Impeccable Results!

Adopt a more delicate grip on the handle compared to a traditional bread knife.

Ensure the handle of your fiddle bow knife remains perfectly level, avoiding any tilting to the left or right before making your cut.

Execute smooth, extended back-and-forth slicing motions.

Avoid exerting excessive downward force, particularly when cutting freshly baked bread right out of the oven.
