Knitting season is starting with some great new scarves! As you can see, could not stop myself swatching for the new Bias Blocks Scarf and it is by one of my favourite designers Anne Ventzel . I think it’s just stunning in its simplicity. It’s one of those projects where the yarn and the colours get to do all the hard work. It is simple, understated, easy to knit, and just gorgeous.
The lofty Isager Alpaca Bouclé together with Isager Soft creates that lovely chunky, lightweight texture. And it’s exactly the sort of project for those evenings when any complicated pattern just feels like far too much.
You know the feeling. You just want to keep your hands busy, switch off for a bit, and knit without having to think too hard.
Also, keeping your hands busy means they’re safely away from the biscuit tin. Surely I am not the only one with this 'problem'? 😂🧶🍪

P.s. this colour combo (and two more 🧶) is now available as a kit. Mind you, limited numbers as aparantly the dark plum Boucle colour 98 is discontinued... trust me to choose it for the sample...

Now then… am I allowed to start talking about chunky knits for Christmas presents yet?🎄
My excuse is that I’ve finally found the perfect yarn for this very simple moss stitch scarf, which was a best seller back in the days of Colinette yarns. Remember them?
I’ve tried it in a few other chunky and super chunky yarns since, but the texture was never quite right. Then along came the new LANGYARNS Twister and I think we may have a winner.🏆😍
I used two different colours for the sample, just to show you how it looks in different colour.
I’ve also added the 'one row' pattern to the blog on the website (link in bio 🫣 or just pop over to www.timelessonline.co.uk). I do use the term pattern rather loosely here, it’s really just the basic instructions, including cast-on stitches, needle size and how big a scarf you can knit from two balls.
It’s quick, easy and ideal for beginners.
So, will it become a best seller in its new yarn? What do you think?🤔

The first knitwear delivery from Harley of Scotland ® has landed! 📦🍂
I’m slowly but surely getting everything onto the website, including garment measurements to make choosing your perfect size a little easier.
And obviously… I had to try some things on. Strictly for research purposes. 😉 It’s all part of the customer service!
Even better, this beauty will also be available in XXL, so of that is size you need, keep your your eyes peeled on the website.

Don’t get me wrong, I do like a nice lazy sunny summer's day, but after all this heat I’m really looking forward to some proper sweater weather.... 🧶
I think I’ll always prefer Autumn. Maybe it’s because I sell knitwear and yarn, but there’s just something much nicer about pulling on a cosy jumper than trying to survive the heat! 🥵
I was at the parched allotment last weekend and spotted these lovely seed heads. I definitely take them as one of the first signs that Autumn is on its way. It is about time to start enjoying knitting and wearing a proper nice jumper 😉

The shop sample in the new Cloud Funky is taking shape. I am knitting the superverisatile and conveniently named Cloud sweater by Petiteknits in size XS. But as you can see from the fabulous patterns the yarn creates, it will be perfect for scarves, hats, snoods as a one ball projects.

I know, I know, it’s still a heatwave, at least here in Devon. However, the new yarns are starting to arrive, and it might be a good time to start a little ‘plotting’ for your autumn knitting. Specially if the new yarn looks fabulous with the sunflowers! 🌻

I have to admit, I have a bit of a split personality when it comes to yarn and knitting. I’ve realised that I equally love the cool Danish styling and wild, exuberant colours. This new Cloud Funky by Lang Yarns hits my wild side straight on!

Not only does it look fabulous in the sunshine, but just look at the fabulous pattern created by the colour printing 😍😍😍 The structure of the yarn is the same as the ‘old’ Cloud, but the added print over the gradient colour changes is just soooo gorgeous. It almost looks like an animal print 🐅 and who does not love that😄

One ball will make a generous scarf or snood, or you could go for a simple, slightly oversized jumper. I’ve started the aptly named Cloud Sweater by PetiteKnit to make as a sample for the shop, and I’m already rather taken with it.

Cloud Funky is now online and is also in the shop window, for those of you walking past who simply can’t wait until next week to see it! 😉

My second Cumulus Blouse by PetiteKnit is finished, and I've come to the conclusion that scrap-yarn projects are either magic or a complete con. You decide 🤔

I started with about 200 g of Isageryarn Silk Mohair leftovers and knitted a size 2XL (admittedly without the sleeves, I've reached the age when sleeveless seems very appealing...).

The finished top weighs 174 g, and somehow I still have 125 g from 200 g of mohair left.

Magic.🪄🪄

Of course, that's if we politely ignore the new balls of mohair that mysteriously found their way into the project bag along the way ...

Please tell me I'm not the only one who has discovered that 'knitting from stash' somehow involves buying more yarn 🙄🧶🧶🧶🛍🛍🛍😄
