Just a few more sleeps until the 106th Arthington Show and we’ve got SO much packed into one day!

Whether you’re coming for the animals, the food, the shopping or just a good old-fashioned Yorkshire day out, there really is something for everyone.

🚲 3SIXTY Bicycle Stunt Team 🪓 Axe throwing 🤠 Hobby Horse Games🎪 Bungee jumps & children’s activities 🐶 Fun Dog Show & Terrier Racing 🚜 Vintage Tractor Parade 🐴 Horses & ponies 🐷 Pigs 🐑 Sheep 🌻 Horticulture, produce, arts & crafts 🏆 Plenty of competitions, rosettes & trophies

And obviously… you can’t have a show day without good food! 😋

We’ve got brownies, cakes & bakes, Greek food, proper pizzas, local legends Otley Burger Company, pancakes, milkshakes and plenty more to keep you fed throughout the day.

Fancy a wander around the stalls? You’ll find local fruit liqueurs, gifts, baby clothing, country wear, goodies for the dog and a brilliant mix of small & local businesses to have a nosey around.

Not doing anything next Sunday? 👀 We need you! 💚

Arthington Show is nearly here and we’re looking for a few more helpers, volunteers and stewards to give us a hand on Sunday 23rd August.

Whether you can spare a couple of hours or a little longer, every extra pair of hands makes a huge difference. In return for helping us out, you’ll get FREE entry to the show to enjoy the rest of your day with us! 🙌

You could be helping with parking, on a gate, stewarding, pointing visitors in the right direction or simply being an extra pair of hands where we need one.

Our committee is only small and everyone volunteers their time. Shows like Arthington don't survive simply because they've been around for over 100 years they survive because local people continue to support them. 💚
So if you fancy getting involved, helping your local show and having a good day out at the same time, we’d love to hear from you.

If you have a spare room or the whole of the house free then please consider fostering for these guys. It really is a wonderful experience.

I'm a failed fosterer and kept 3, I just fell in love 🐾

‼️🐾 Want To Become a YCR Foster? 🐾‼️

With more intakes than ever before coming through our doors, this naturally means we are always in need of more foster homes to help us bare the load ❤️‍🩹

We've had quite a few comments and messages regarding fostering recently so we wanted to share some information about how you can help!

All the cats in our care will only be sent of to registered fosterers so if you want to help us you will need to fill out a foster application that can be found on our website.

We will link this below which will also take you to our entire foster page, where you can read all about how fostering works and decide if it's right for you ❤️

Key things to note would be that YCR covers all food, vet bills, supplies and any equipment needed. You must be over 18 and able to drive to our centre and to vet appointments when required. You must be able to keep your own pets separate from your foster animals such a spare room /separate space and your animals.

We work with vets in various areas such as, Keighley, Halifax, Huddersfield, Mytholmroyd, Shipley, Ossett and Leeds! But we also have connections with other vets so it's worth applying if you are not form from these areas to see if we have a vets near you we can use, but again bare in mind that you need to be able to drive to our centre when necessary! 🐾

Being a foster requires excellent communication with our team to keep us updated on your foster animals progress and so we can contact you whenever necessary!

It can be the most rewarding thing you'll ever do but it can all be hard work and can emotionally challenge you when it comes to experiencing sick cats, scared cats, injuries, or giving the cat back when the time comes. We will however always make sure you're comfortable with hr cat/cats your taking on and we always try match the right fosterer to the right cat!
