I am using King Cole Yarn & Pattern Supplier Firefly for my next autumn make.

The pictures do not do this yarn justice. It doesn’t catch the shimmery colours and how soft it is.

I love this yarn but what am I making?

I used Stylecraft Yarns Dream Cloud chunky yarn colour Hera. It’s so soft and feels gorgeous.

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL - Participants and helpers needed.

Lovely people of Great Torrington lets work together as a community to get this event going.
Please read all of the post to see if this is something that you would like to participate in.

Calling all businesses, schools and groups of Great Torrington.
We are working with St Michael & All Angels, Great Torrington to arrange a Christmas Tree Festival from 27th November 2026 to 1st December 2026 this year in St Michaels & All Angels Church.

We are looking for businesses, schools and groups, who would like to have a Christmas tree in the church.

This is how it would work - if you would like to participate.

1. You would need to provide a Christmas tree, which you decorate however you wish. You can use it to promote your business/school/group or just decorate it as a Christmas tree.
2. You would need to take the tree to the church and display the tree. This can be taken to the church between 1pm on 25th Nov and 11.30am on 27th Nov.
3. There will be an opening ceremony on Friday 27th Nov 2026 (Early evening - time to be confirmed).
4. Anyone will be able to go into the church to see the Christmas Trees on display between Friday 27th Nov to Tuesday 1st December 2026.
5. You would need to remove the tree afterwards and this can done between 1pm on 2nd December 2026 and evening of 3rd December 2026.
6. To have a tree in the festival a donation of £10 will need to be made and it will be passed to the church.

Following the festival the church will donate the proceeds to a charity. - Charity TBC.

We do need around 30 trees to make this a success.

We do also need some volunteer's to sing carols on the opening evening and someone who can play some music/carols as well.
