I’ve been spending some time crafting these little gift boxes for my limited edition Towcester Christmas collection, and it’s reminded me just how much I love making things. 🤎

There’s something incredibly calming about sitting down, getting creative and making something beautiful with your own hands. No rushing, no screens, just enjoying the process.

And it’s got me thinking…

I’d love to bring a little more creativity into The Slow Life with some cosy craft evenings. Think scrapbooking, card making, a cup of tea, a good chat and a few hours doing something just for yourself.

Because sometimes slowing down means making something.

Garden centres have become really good at giving us a reason to stay. ☕🌿

Coffee, lunch, gifts, homeware, a wander around… suddenly you’ve spent two hours there when you only went in for a plant. 😅

Meanwhile, we talk a lot about declining High Street footfall — but maybe the question isn’t just how do we get people shopping again?

Maybe it’s how do we make the High Street somewhere people actually want to spend their time?

More cafés, more independents, more experiences, more reasons to linger.

Have garden centres simply got it right — while our High Streets haven’t caught up yet?
