Here are Aztec's top tips to help your flooring last longer:
- Use good entrance matting - stopping grit, dirt and moisture at the door prevents them being walked across your flooring.
- Vacuum or sweep regularly - grit acts like sandpaper, gradually wearing away carpet fibres and scratching hard flooring.
- Clean spills quickly - particularly carpet, laminate and wood.
- Use the correct cleaning products - too much water or harsh chemicals can actually damage some flooring.
- Protect it from furniture - use felt pads under chairs, tables and furniture legs.
- Move furniture occasionally - this helps prevent permanent indentation and uneven wear.
- Deal with problems early - a small lifting edge, loose transition, damaged plank or opening joints is usually easier to remedy quickly before it becomes a bigger problem.
