A little Sunday round-up 🤍

It’s been one of those weeks where I’ve stopped and realised just how much is happening behind the scenes at Lancashire Candle Company.

The Autumn Edit is finally out in the world, orders are being made and packed, I’ve been working on the next stage of our refillable candles, and there have been some really exciting conversations about wholesale and new stockists too.

There’s still a LOT happening behind the scenes (and an even longer to-do list 🙈), but after all the work that has gone into the business recently, it feels really lovely to see some of those pieces beginning to come together.

And as always, every order, comment, share, message and bit of support genuinely means so much to a small handmade business like mine.

A little round-up of your orders this week 🤎

What a week it’s been for the Autumn Edit.

Seeing the new fragrances and refillable candle colours actually being chosen, ordered and heading off to their new homes has been such a lovely feeling — especially after all the work that went into getting this collection ready.

And I think it’s safe to say Mulberry is already becoming a bit of a favourite 👀🍂

I’ll be popping into the studio today to get all of these orders made up, packed and ready for shipping tomorrow — definitely not a day off, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

From refillable candles to wax melts, every single order genuinely means so much to this little business.

Five colours, poured by hand for autumn. 🍂

When I started planning the Autumn Edit, I knew I didn’t just want to introduce new fragrances.

I wanted our refillable candles themselves to change with the season.

So alongside five new autumn fragrances came five new vessel colours:

🌿 Sage
🍇 Mulberry
🎃 Pumpkin
🤎 Mushroom
🍫 Cocoa

Every vessel is individually handmade and poured by me, which means each one has its own subtle variations — something I think makes them even more special.

And unlike a candle you replace when it’s finished, these are designed to stay with you. Once you’ve finished your candle, simply replace the wax refill and use your vessel all over again.

Last night Mulberry rather stole the show with that gorgeous candle glow… but I’m curious:

One thing I wasn’t sure about when creating the new colours for our Autumn Edit was the glow… 🕯️

Our original refillable vessels are much lighter, so I wondered whether choosing deeper, solid colours for autumn would mean losing some of that beautiful warmth when the candle was lit.

Well… Mulberry has proved me completely wrong. 🍂

I absolutely love the way the candlelight catches the inside of the vessel and creates that gorgeous warm glow against the deeper exterior.

And this is exactly why so much testing goes on behind the scenes at The Lancashire Candle Company.

Sometimes you test because you’re looking for a problem.

And sometimes you discover something even better than you expected. 🤎

Behind the scenes ✨

There’s been a lot of testing going on behind the scenes as I continue developing something I’ve wanted to introduce for a while — refillable glass candles.

It sounds simple: create a candle refill that can be placed into a beautiful glass vessel, enjoyed, removed when finished and replaced with a new one.

In reality? There’s a lot of testing involved. 😂

Different blends. Different pours. Waiting. Testing. And occasionally wondering whether something is ever actually going to work.

The first version looked promising… but it wasn’t going anywhere.

Then this happened. 👀

The latest test released beautifully from the vessel, completely intact and holding its shape — exactly what I’ve been working towards.

There’s still more testing to do, including burn testing and making sure I can replicate the result consistently, but this feels like a pretty exciting little breakthrough.

Because creating something refillable isn’t just about calling it refillable. It actually has to work.

One step closer. 🤍

🍂 Meet Cashmere & Caramel

One of five fragrances created for our new Autumn Edit.

Cashmere & Caramel is everything I wanted an autumn fragrance to be — warm, comforting and beautifully cosy, without being overly sweet.

It opens with the richness of salted caramel, before soft cashmere brings a smooth, almost cocooning warmth to the fragrance.

As it settles, creamy vanilla is balanced by musk and woods, giving it a deeper, more sophisticated finish.

The result is a fragrance that feels like those first proper autumn evenings — the lights are lower, the evenings are getting cooler and home suddenly becomes somewhere you want to retreat to.

Bank Holiday Monday… but the order list says otherwise 🤍

After a lovely break, I’m back in the studio today catching up on the orders that came in while I was away — and there’s definitely plenty to keep me busy!

Candles to pour, vessels to make, wax melts and mists to prepare… one order at a time. 🕯️

And I absolutely LOVE seeing how many of today’s orders are for our refillable candles. 🤍 It’s so lovely to see more of you choosing a candle that’s designed to be enjoyed, refilled and used again and again.

I’m incredibly grateful to come home to orders waiting for me. Thank you, as always, for choosing to support my little Lancashire business.

And just like that… back to reality 🏡🐾

Home at around 3am this morning, the first load of washing is already on 🧺 and today is officially all about unpacking, getting ourselves sorted and lots of dog cuddles after being away. ❤️

Although Molly seems to have decided that her only job today is staying firmly attached to Rob… and I can’t really blame her. 😂🐶

Holiday mode off. Home mode on. ❤️
