‼️ATTENTION ‼️

Instagram has had me feeling despondent for quite sometime. When I started this account, almost 7 yrs ago, it was all about the love of sharing my home. It was a simple & effective process of sharing a single photograph.

Although the enjoyment of making friends & the wonderful home community still remains, the fun of creating content isn’t the same thanks to the ever changing algorithm, the feeling of failure if your not giving your account to some company for free advertising or allowing AI to do your thinking for you (sorry AI fans)
My home is almost finished & I don’t intend to redecorate to grow my following. I think my family deserve to live in a finished home now (I mean it has been 14yrs in this house alone 🫣)

I’m not abandoning insta altogether, I love this community too much, but I do think it’s time for a change & to take back my account. I love fashion more than interiors & lately have started travelling a lot more. So like many others I think it will be more lifestyle than just home.
Having said that, I now need a new name & I’d like you all to help me choose

So pop on to my stories today & vote for your favourite 👏🏻😆👏🏻

THE POWER OF…..

Clothes & makeup!
After feeling dreadful the last few days, the post surgery pain peaking, today I decided to pull myself together. My therapy has alway been clothes, they can change my mood & confidence instantly. I may not yet have my nails back on or be in my heels but a little bit of make up & a new jacket is like medicine

I do get comments from people saying “you don’t ’have’ to wear heels you know.” But at 5’1 & having spent the last 40 yrs gaining my confidence because of them, it’s hard not feel incomplete without them. I suppose it’s a little bit like my armour.
Don’t get me wrong, people still feel the need to tell me regularly that I’m short, as if I hadn’t figured that out for myself over the last 51yrs🤪 or refer to me as their ‘little’ friend or ‘little’ Amanda 🤬, bizarre that people feel the need to add an adjective to short people, I wonder if the they refer to their other friends as ‘my regular height mate’ or ‘my tall pal’ 🤔

Anyway, rant over! I feel a million times better today than yesterday, so let’s see if I can manage a walk to the pub for a pornstar martini 😆

Happy Saturday folks 😘

HAPPINESS

I don’t think there is any better time to be recuperating from surgery than cosy season. There is only one other in this house happier to see the fire lit again than me, swipe to see who that is, me & my little inmate snug as a bug together 💕

RECOMMENDATIONS

HELP- I’m looking for recommendations for a good silk pillowcase (not crazy money). I’ve had several over the last few years but they never seem to last very long & just seem to shred after a few months. After seeing my hair finally growing back after years of loss, it’s important to me that I find a good one, especially as I am a very restless sleeper

So if you have used one that you think has been fantastic, please let me know in the comments

FOURTH WEEKEND IN A ROW

Knowing I’d be housebound for a while after my surgery, we made the most of the weekends running up to it. Düsseldorf, York, Edinburgh & then finally London. We had the best time from lunch & cocktails at Battersea Power Station, secret bars with passwords, uber boats on the Thames, 1940’s themed experience, borough market, Covent Garden to cocktails in bags at Camden Market.

The weather was amazing meaning we could walk for miles, we had such a great time we can’t wait to go back next year

Now it’s time to put my feet up for 4-6weeks & let my back heal before our next adventure & this one is a biggie 🌴🛳️ x

CAHOOTS

We had a last minute trip away to London last weekend & I got to tick something off my bucket list. I’d seen Cahoots London on social media so many times & it was just by chance that we were staying near by so I just had to go. I can tell you it was so much fun, thought that had gone in to every part of is just fabulous. I don’t want to give too much away for anyone wanting to visit but from the moment you step through the doors you transported into the 1940’s. The cocktails wete AMAZING (my husband was so drunk 😂),wether they were wizzing round the ceiling, arriving in very quirky glasses or accompanied by a letter, every one of them was fun & delicious. The walls, the tables & especially the toilets, were a feast for the eyes. I highly recommend a visit & we cannot wait to go back year
