The gallery is situated beside the main A835 Ullapool to Inverness road, directly on the route of the North Coast 500, opposite Lael Forest Garden. 10 miles south of Ullapool and only two miles from Braemore Junctionand the A832 from Gairloch and Dundonnell, the site of the famous Corrieshalloch Gorge. We stock a very wide range of some of the best local and Scottish arts and crafts and serve deli

cious locally roasted coffees alongside teas, Hot Chocolate and locally made cakes and bakes, in a warm, inviting and spacious environment.

Last post on this page…..

Yesterday was our last day at the gallery. Keys have been returned to our landlords Alec and Rosie Mutch who have been just fantastic hosts over the last 10 years. Couldn’t really have asked for better.

Completely cleared it out down to bare bones.

Another chapter begins.

More price reductions as the SALE heads for the end of August. With a fair wind and enough sales we will then close.

Everything needs to go.

At least 20% off all the stock we own, plus some even better deals for multi buys.

All Orkney mugs are now 2 for £30 plus 20% off at the till, that’s £12 each, down from £20. Little Bothy pics also £30 for 2, £12 each down from £21. Hand cleft birch herb pots now £15, down from £21, plus 20% off at the till, you pay just £12.

Lots more where they came from!!

This is all that’s left in the jar of drinking chocolate at the gallery. When it’s gone it’s gone, there will be no more. Expect to run out today or tomorrow. No more hot chocolate or mochas after that.

Why?

Because last year we paid £18 for a 2.5 kilo bag, at the beginning of this season it had gone to £28, then £36 and now I am being asked to pay £45 for the same 2.5 kilos of chocolate.

It’s not going to happen.

We are trying to sell stock, but Alec (his workshop is across from us) has had an order for his burr elm bowls cancelled...

We are trying to sell stock, but Alec (his workshop is across from us) has had an order for his burr elm bowls cancelled. These are fabulous bowls made from the elm trees I documented being felled behind the workshops opposite the gallery in the last year or two. So couldn’t refuse but take them into stock.

We won’t see the like again, a piece of history, there can’t be many elms left in the UK, and not with burrs like this.

Lots of wood in stock now. When it’s gone it’s gone.

We have decided it is time to retire and spend more time enjoying ourselves. To that end we have begun to wind down the business with the intention of closing permanently by the end of this season.

Everything we own is now on sale for 20% off marked prices.

When it’s gone it’s gone. Come and get a bargain while stocks last.

We are often asked if we make everything in the gallery. There are hundreds of items here, ceramics, woodturning, carving, glass, textiles to name a few. So, no, it’s impossible for us to make all this ourselves. Indeed we spend so much time here we can’t make anything and haven’t done for the past 11 years, since we opened the gallery.

A quick count up and today we have work from 45, yes forty five, makers in the gallery!
