Blog Post Title: RM Decor Solutions Featured Nationally by Tikkurila Paints!
Date: July 2026
Category: Company News / Kitchen Transformations

We have some incredibly exciting news to share at RM Decor Solutions! One of our recent bespoke hand-painted kitchen renovation projects right here in Billericay has been officially selected and published as a national case study by premium paint specialists, Tikkurila UK.

To have our workmanship recognised on a national scale by one of the world's leading coatings manufacturers is a massive milestone for our team. It validates the strict preparation standards, specialist techniques, and absolute attention to detail that we bring to every single home across Essex.

Kitchen Cabinetry Makeover read the full case study on the official Tikkurila UK website.

The Project: Modernising a Billericay Kitchen
The brief for this Essex home was to take a pale, dated kitchen space and transform it into a striking, contemporary masterpiece. Because kitchen cabinetry has to withstand heavy daily wear, grease, and frequent cleaning, we knew a standard paint job wouldn’t cut it.

To deliver a pristine look that would stay flawless for years, we turned to a full, professional-grade Tikkurila coatings system.
The Manufacturer-Approved Process
Achieving an industry-featured finish requires patience, expertise, and the right materials. Here is exactly how we executed this transformation:

Meticulous Preparation: We fully degreased, washed, and meticulously sanded all the cabinet doors and framework to ensure a perfectly smooth surface.

The Ultimate Foundation: We applied Tikkurila Otex Adhesion Primer. This solvent-based primer creates an unbreakable bond on tricky, smooth wooden surfaces, ensuring the topcoat will never flake or peel.
The Hard-Wearing Finish: For the final look, we applied Tikkurila Helmi 30. This water-borne, semi-matt finish cures to a rock-hard, scrub-resistant film. It provides a beautiful, soft sheen that can easily be wiped clean.

RM Decor Solutions Supports Prostate Cancer Awareness

At RM Decor Solutions, we don’t just care about interiors — we care about the people who live in them. That’s why we’re proud to stand alongside men across the UK to raise awareness of prostate cancer, the most common cancer in men.

1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, yet many are unaware of the symptoms or risk factors. Early detection is key, and we’re using our platform to encourage our male customers, friends, and colleagues to get informed, get checked, and speak up.

Throughout this awareness campaign, we’re pledging support to prostate cancer charities and taking steps to open up conversations among our team and clients. From sharing information to wearing blue and donating a portion of sales, RM Decor Solutions is committed to making a real difference.

Because health matters — and so do the men in our lives.

Painters and decorators have you heard this before from customers 👏

“It won’t take long…” or “I could do it myself if I had time…”
If you’re a homeowner, you’ve probably said one of these before when thinking about decorating.

We get it—but here’s the thing:

Painting and decorating isn’t just about putting colour on a wall. It’s about prep work, clean edges, the right materials, and years of experience. What looks like a “quick job” often takes time if it’s going to be done properly.

As a qualified painter and decorator, I take pride in the little details that make a big difference.

Because let’s be honest—anyone can paint, but not everyone can do it well.

So next time you’re tempted to DIY or think, “It won’t take long,” just remember: quality work is always worth the time and investment.

Support your local trades.
Choose experience. Choose quality
