Cutting up little pieces of fabric and patchworking them back together is magic but sometimes you need something a little less involved, less demanding - also less cutting, less sewing, less time!

And less tools. No sewing machine needed! I know lots of you would love to make your own quilt but aren’t yet ready to commit to a sewing machine so I’ve designed my class Hand Quilting for Beginners: Make a Whole Cloth Quilt with exactly you in mind. You don’t need any previous hand stitching experience either!

There’s still room on the 14th/21st November class so come join us for a couple of cosy mornings learning this relaxing art and the kind of good conversation that happens when makers get together 🫖☕️

No fancy reel or carousel, just some good old fashioned photos of my quilt top in the wild and some amazing pumpkins we saw on our Sunday stroll with friends!

I’m going to machine quilt this one but I haven’t a clue how yet! I’d like to do something a little fancy but not too fancy. How would you quilt this?

Remember the Nordmann quilt pattern? I’ve switched up the cover quilt to this two tone blackberry jam infused palette. I always did prefer it to the original.

I always felt this pattern never got as much love as it deserved. It uses a really fun method for making the trees. If you likely making blocks, slicing them up and rearranging them to magically make something completely new then you’ll love this!

I’m giving away a free copy with any order of prints from the Christmas in Color fabric range made in October.

Comment XMAS and I’ll send you the code to use 🎁

(You can purchase a copy in the usual way too!)

When I say everyone is welcome, I mean it! This introduction to hand quilting class is suitable for ALL skill levels. No previous hand stitching experience needed and you don’t need to own any expensive equipment.

Over two lovely mornings (with a week in between for homework) you’ll stitch and chat with other crafty folk at my sewing space in Highbury. And the best thing is that, along with a new hobby (that isn’t scrolling), you’ll have a finished lap sized quilt at the end. Ready for cosy evenings or as a meaningful gift for someone special at Christmas.

I’m a huge Christmas fan and I always thought I was more of a traditionalist when it came to festive themes and colours. As a half-Dane, the love of red and white is strong at Christmas 🇩🇰

But I also have a long held secret hankering for a pink tinsel tree decorated with all the shiny glitzy things. Like in a glamorous fifties Christmas movie!

I feel like I get a bit of both with Christmas in Color 💖

Traditional Santas and cabins and baubles and gingerbread but all in glorious Technicolor!

I’m planning some super cute Christmas gifts this year and maybe they’re be a little more colour twinkling on my tree ✨

In the spirit of old insta I managed to snap this literally just now before the (very welcome) rain!

As autumn approaches this is your reminder that the Make a Modern Quilt 3 week beginners class starts on Saturday 12th September.

You’ll make your very own lap sized hand-quilted quilt to keep you cosy in the cooler months and learn forever skills you can turn to again and again when you want to be creative rather than on your phone. From exploring colour and placement, mastering accurate cutting and patchwork piecing, to hand quilting and binding techniques, you’ll be guided through every step of the quilt making process.

The class is suitable for complete patchwork and quilting beginners. You will need to have experience using a sewing machine to get the most out of the class and you can join the Get to Know Your Sewing Machine morning the week before on the 5th if you need to. Don’t hesitate to drop me a message if you’re unsure if the class is right for you!

I can’t wait to have you join us and spend three lovely lessons stitching and getting to know each other ❤️
