Poor little fella has a broken wing. Wonderful people at waterfowl rescue are coming to save him. Obviously had to have a cuddle when I picked him up, he snuggled into me till we found him a box. Fingers crossed he will be able to be fixed.

I really admire this artists work and he has a great sense of humour as he shows a lot of the struggles us artists have.
Following on about the mess I got in with my paint the other day, this one makes me chuckle.
The struggle is real!

No idea where this year went! But as we are now in October I have put together this years mystery box prices. They come in sturdy personalised magnetic boxes or beautifully wrapped presents (depending on size of items), sometimes a mixture of both.
I am not usually organised enough to promote these boxes on here and just offer them as a service when people ask closer to the date, so this year I am getting prepared so I don’t run out of stock and boxes.

Surely this must mean my studio must be the best studio in the uk for its proximately to one of the best pubs in the UK for its waterside location.
I always said it’s the location that is so special about this place. Like taking a step back in time 30 years where strangers wave hello to each other and stop and chat a while and rarely a screen to be seen.
People tell me I would make more money in a town centre, but i chose to be an artist many years ago, so money never interested me.
It’s all about being able to create in a safe, inspiring space surrounded by like minded people
Artists and boat owners share so much in common
You can’t rush the process, costs loads of money and can become an addiction 😝 , worth every penny to live the life and it’s all about enjoying the journey as the destination is usually just people coddiwompling happily into the unknown.

Congratulations to The Admiral Nelson my favourite pub, fed many of my workshop clients over the years as well as home of the best fish finger sandwich I ever did eat.

This is not a happy positive, “look what I got” post.
At this time of year we seem to get domestic ducks dumped down on the cut. Last year 3 domestic ducks and one Indian runner duck were dumped. They lasted 3 days. The Indian runner duck could barely swim and was taken out by the swans within a day.

I took this info off google to explain why you are killing your ducks when you “set them free”.

Inability to fly: Selective breeding for meat or large sizes has made domestic ducks too heavy, with wings that are too small relative to their bodies for sustained flight.
• Lack of camouflage: Many domestic breeds feature bright white feathers or distinct color patterns that stand out vividly in nature, making them easy targets for predators.
• Slow movement: They lack the agility and speed needed to escape ground or aerial threats.

Behavioral and Survival Deficits
No migration instincts: Unlike wild waterfowl, domestic ducks do not know how to fly south or move to sater, warmer climates when winter arrives.
• Poor foraging skills: They depend heavily on humans for feed and lack the innate ability to recognize and hunt for proper natural nutrients in the wild.
• Absence of self-defense: They have no natural fear of predators like foxes, dogs, or aggressive wild birds, and cannot defend themselves.

Found this in the studio , in case someone is missing it. If not it will add to my collection of random items left behind for no apparent reason. I have a gnome type hat, a pair of reading glasses a neon green alien pen, 5 duck eggs in a pot, glasses case and a cardigan. I am working on a full outfit, although if someone leaves me some trousers I will be a little concerned.

Today’s little critter, biggest bumble I have ever seen. she was sat on Aryas urn in the garden but not moving. so I gave her some sugar water and tried to put her on a flower but she just kept crawling back onto my hand. At one point she flew up but then came straight back down again onto my hand and just stayed with me for over an hour.
I thought she may be dying but she eventually beat her little wings and away she went.
Not as exciting as a sparrow hawk I know, but was a really beautiful time, just sat next to Arya, thinking about life and this amazing fuzzy little creature who ultimately makes it all possible for all of us,

Clearance sale!
I have a LOT of boxes of reeves acrylic paint taking up space in my garage and 2 pallets of new stock incoming so I need to make some space.

So I will be adding to this post with other clearance products when I find them.

SAS chair shop is back! 😝
I kept this one back for my freshly redecorated living room to go with Bobs desk, but he’s now saying he doesn’t need a desk, so this brand new olive big and tall lumber reclining chair is now needing a new home.
Many bottoms have tested the studio ones with lots of compliments as they pretty much armchairs on swivelling wheels. The RRP was £349, currently on Amazon for £200. It’s in Bobs car ready to deliver for just £80!
