Showing the reality behind cake making - we all like to show the successes but I think it's also worth sharing the complete muck-ups too!

I offered to make a cake to celebrate my lovely Mum's 80th - first pic was the first round of cakes - I'd somehow baked a pair of sunken aliens - who knows what I did but they were disastrous!!

The stress levels in the kitchen......let's not even go there - 'big cake' making is never a relaxing task here - Mr CB usually makes himself 'very busy' somewhere else 😂

Thankfully the second batch were perfectly soft and fluffy & I was very grateful to have extra ingredients on hand, just in case.....!!

My decorating skills are also still in apprentice mode but this cake was made with a lot of love, even if it did start to have a jolly slant on the big day!!

The less glamorous side of the cake cabin ...... why do I do this to myself?! Anyone else do the same?! 🫣

Harvest feels in the kitchen today - first crop from our apple tree has prompted a Dorset Apple Cake mega bake!

Tomorrow's Panto tea duty, the Harvest Hoedown and the local coffee morning on Monday now have a distinctly Autumn feel!! 🍎🌾🍏👩🏻‍🌾🌾

We're delighted to announce that during the months of Sept & Oct we will be supporting Fledge in Eastleigh.

'Fledge supports young adults in Eastleigh who are facing homelessness or need help preparing for independent living. We provide safe accommodation alongside practical and emotional support to help young adults build confidence, develop life skills, and move forward with their lives.'

Please support our cake cabin in Otterbourne Village Hall carpark park and know that you're helping a local charity too, thank you!! 💙

The Charitable Baker UK on tour team had a delicious stop at Cletwr - a fabulous community cafe & shop. Absolutely delicious and highly recommended if you're ever in the area!
