✨Well it’s a new year, which means one thing – NEW SCENT!
Switching into SCIENCE TEACHER MODE! 🥸
Now, I know you all have your favourites, but why not try a leap of faith and SWITCH! THERE’S A REASON behind my ask and here’s why!
🧠 Our brains are brilliant at adapting to familiar smells — it’s called olfactory fatigue, or as we like to call it, “nose blindness.” After a while, you simply stop noticing the scent around you (even if it’s still there!).
Also if you have a reed diffuser, place it where you spend a lot of time – (mine is at the kitchen sink, poor me!)
Even if you try it just once and decide to go back to your favourite, it resets your memory, so you see it as a new scent. Honestly, it works. The amount of people that walk into my home and comment on the scent in the hallway and I can’t smell not a jot!
So, the New Year is the perfect excuse to shake things up a little. Step away from your usual favourite and try something that sparks a new mood or memory.
