Meet NICF member Mathew Parkinson 👋

Training has been a key part of Mathew’s journey as a flooring fitter, from starting as an apprentice for Carpet World to becoming a Master Fitter while making it to the finals of the Fitter of the Year competition.

His proudest installation?

120m of stone-effect flooring, all centred off a double staircase and looped round through a kitchen round a breakfast bar, and it centred perfectly.

He did it working with Brian King, NICF’s Honorary Treasurer and Master Fitter, who had previously awarded Mathew his NVQ.

Outside of flooring?

‘I paint Warhammer models. I’m a terrible fisherman. Music is a big part of my life, and I love sci-fi movies.’

It’s great to have you as part of the NICF community, Mathew.

Another great year at Harrogate Flooring Show!

Thank you to everyone who came to chat, asked questions and took a real interest in what the NICF has to offer.

From existing members popping in for a catch-up to plenty of people who are thinking about joining and becoming part of the NICF, it was excellent to discuss how getting involved with training and the NICF can improve your business.
