Yesterday was a really sad day. We had to say goodbye to Amber, who, for people working with us or simply knowing us, was as much a symbol of our business as our name or logo.

How do you describe the meaning of this very special team member who was with you from day one of starting your business, sticking with you through thick and thin, being there every minute, witnessing your good decisions and bad decisions, with no salary, just the occasional snack and obligatory lunchtime walkies?

My very first memory of running Letterbox4you was sitting in our house garden (there was no office back then), with Amber lying next to me, keeping me company while the first letterboxes were being added to eBay (no website either!).

And one of my last memories is almost the same. One of the last warm, sunny October days, and me sitting in the garden with Amber, enjoying a bit of sunshine, as she was too poorly to go to the office anymore.

I cannot overestimate how much her presence meant to my own physical and mental health through all these years. There was no skipping lunch breaks because I was “too busy”. Instead, there would be an energetic walk to Starbucks so I could have my double espresso and my handler (it was obvious who was walking whom!) could have her Puppuccino.

She also kept everyone in the office aware of the policy that no food was to be consumed without her receiving her contribution, occasionally barking her orders out loud at those who were too slow or simply trying to pretend they had nothing to share.

I really think that in those moments when we are under pressure, overrun, things are not going according to plan, or we are simply feeling under the weather, having this special someone like Amber in the office becomes a lifesaver.

I’m sure that Amber will be missed by many, but her absence will be felt most deeply by me. She was there from the very beginning and will always remain our employee number 1.

The Jackdaw wall-mounted post box in anthracite grey, personalised with the house number and street name.

A smart, modern finish that looks part of the property rather than an afterthought.

Our green Lovisa parcel box looking right at home beside this lovely English cottage.

A practical way to keep deliveries secure, with a simple design and colour that sits beautifully in a more traditional setting.

The Sierra parcel box, fitted neatly into a brick pillar for a clean and practical finish.

Letters and parcels are delivered securely from the front and collected from the rear, making it a smart choice for driveways, entrances and boundary walls.

A solid, built-in solution for secure everyday deliveries.

For homes with gates, driveways or landscaped entrances, a free standing post box can often be the simplest and most elegant solution.

The Albertina gives you a proper outdoor letterbox without drilling into the wall or cutting into a gate. Made from galvanised powder-coated steel, it is designed for everyday outdoor use and available in a choice of colours.

A Tale Two Towers… but for parcels.

This gate features two Sigma parcel boxes, giving each property its own secure place for post and deliveries while keeping the entrance neat, balanced and beautifully planned.

A little less Middle-earth, a little more everyday delivery convenience — but still a very satisfying pair.

This is exactly why gate mounted letterboxes became such an important part of Letterbox4you.

When a customer invests in a beautiful wooden gate, the letterbox needs to match the quality and finish of the entrance. The W3 Gatehouse rear access letterbox gives a clean front-facing letter slot with secure access from behind, making it a practical and elegant solution for daily post.

A small detail, but one that makes the whole entrance feel complete.

It is always a special feeling when a project is close to home.

Letterbox4you is based in Buckinghamshire, so supplying this set of free standing external post boxes for flats in Milton Keynes felt particularly nice for our team.

We work with developers, contractors, property managers and residents’ groups across the UK and Ireland, but there is always something extra satisfying about seeing our products used in our own neighbourhood.

For this project, the customer needed a practical external mailbox solution for flats, with individual secure post boxes arranged neatly as part of the building’s entrance area.

A simple, reliable solution — and a lovely local project for us to be part of.

After more than 14 years of Letterbox4you, I am still proud that we have kept the business personal.

We are not a faceless dropshipping website or a bot-driven machine. We are a real team, helping real customers choose the right post boxes, parcel boxes and mailbox systems for their homes and projects.

And yes, Amber and Enzo are still very much part of the team.
