A very long time since we posted anything! 😲....thankfully because we have been busy!! Obviously not for the past month but it has given us time to sit around staring at our own paintwork and do the much needed kitchen restoration at home!! 😇

Phew, that was a busy spring.....and then summer! Quite a few repainted kitchens which we get booked to do while people are away!......its a really good way to do it, easier for us and the client and they get home from a great holiday to a fantastic new look kitchen.

Hooray, the spring has arrived, more light!
We are currently doing quite a few repaints and kitchen restorations. It is amazing the transformation a restoration can make to furniture in such a short time! Wash down, touch-up all the knocks and chips and re-varnish.....looks as good as new!!

So the painting is finished in the scullery! This type of slightly aged look is often a good choice for a more traditio...

So the painting is finished in the scullery! This type of slightly aged look is often a good choice for a more traditional style room and can be quite intensely distressed or very subtle. But many people don't realise that this type of layering and shading can be used to stunning effect on very modern styles of furniture, and is beautifully framed by the clean lines of granite, wood and modern appliances. It doesn't have to look dated. And with two coats of varnish it's extremely hard-wearing.
Very enjoyable to work on beautiful furniture in a lovely setting.

Painting furniture in a victorian scullery this week in a lovely Arts and Crafts style Manor House. The cabinets are designed and made by Warwick-based bespoke furniture company Cleary and Hall. The scullery has an original black range and pump and so we've been working on a subtle antiqued look. Here we're dry-brushing a cream colour over a dull green base and finally adding an dirty yellow glaze with a bit more dry-brushing, Very pleased with the effect. Final photos tomorrow......
