We were recently asked to re-upholster a pair of Barbara Barry for Baker, Oval X back chairs. We chose this gorgeous fabric from which works perfectly with the other green elements in the room 💚 We love bringing forgotten items back to life.

Japan 2025 🇯🇵

We’ve recently returned from a cruise around Japan so here’s my round up.

1. We visited a temple near Mount Fuji. Unfortunately it was so overcast we couldn’t see the mountain though.
2. We stayed in Kyoto for a couple of days which we really enjoyed. I was taken by the architecture of this stark concrete building against the lush green tree. Here ends the arty farty discussion of “juxtaposition” 😉
3. A cat! Just because I’m one of those ladies.
4. We went to a street market which was great. Apparently David Beckham has been so you know it’s good!
5. I wasn’t even slightly tempted to try a fried mini octopus on a stick 🐙
6. Yep, still don’t like matcha!
7. More cats! Told you 🐈‍⬛
8. We then went to a bamboo forest which was a great day out.
9. The forest had lots of gardens and properties to walk around.
10. Our next stop was Kochi. If you’ve seen Showgun on Disney Plus, we went to the castle. We arrived on the day they had their annual street festival which was great.
11. We went to Hiroshima which was obviously sad but important. The museum was good but we went during a national holiday and it was so busy we were just being funnelled through with the crowd. We went to a cafe to make paper cranes to leave at the children’s memorial.
12. This is the only surviving building which was in close proximity to the explosion. It was really eye opening to see the true devastation that was caused.
13. We then sailed to South Korea and went to a temple near Busan. The colours and craftsmanship on the buildings was really beautiful.
14. More from Busan.
15. More from Busan.
16. A quick snap of the moon from the ship. I was about getting sea sick but the motion wasn’t too bad.
17. Next top was Aomori. We went to a float museum which sounded soooo boring but actually, I was really impressed. The floats are huge and the sculptures are made from wire frames, wrapped in paper and wax and lit with lights inside.
18. Final stop. Tokyo!
19. Tokyo in the day.

Have you been to Japan and where was your favourite place?
