Before and afters of a lovely guest bedroom in a beautiful barn conversion. The bedroom leads out to the garden and surrounded by views of fields and the sea. The room felt dark and not very relaxing, it needed to form two functions a bedroom for guests and an office when working from home. We designed the room with a New England beach house vibe with warm buttery tones contrasted with soft blues. We created a desk working area where the wardrobe was situated, by moving the wardrobe to the other side of the room it gave more space for working instead of feeling stuck in a cramped corner. Guy designed and built the desk which gives lots of storage space and room to work but without it feeling too office like. We changed the headboard and gave it more height to work with the high ceilings. A seating area was created at the foot of the bed facing onto the garden. Contrasting soft furnishings give a sumptuous inviting look

Sumptuous textures give a bedroom a relaxing comforting feel. Mixing different shades of neutrals with contrasting patterns stops the room feeling flat. Location: London Designed by Beau Sala
