We have long been fans of this region; from the vineyards & hop gardens of Alsace, through the cosmopolitan cities of Strasbourg & Freiburg, to the deep cool silence of the Black Forest & out across the plains to Donaueschingen where the Danube starts it’s journey. We’ve been inspired by the passion of our neighbours for buying locally made, beau

tiful & practical pieces for the home as well as joining them for a rummage at any of the hundred or so ‘vide-grenier’ or ‘trodel’ markets that spring up throughout the year. Buying pre-loved treasures is a way of life here where recycling is king. As the Oktoberfest ends & the nights draw in thoughts turn to Christmas when the valleys literally sparkle with light & life as each town presents their unique take on the traditional Christmas market. These are guaranteed to drive away all thoughts of the cold; or maybe that’s just the Gluhwein talking! We hope you’ll share our enthusiasm for all things ‘Alsace’. Can you believe it's been nearly a year since we closed the business? I can't. So much has happened this year that I'm only just getting round to sorting through the stock that's left and these items are still carefully packed in boxes so not immediately accessible. I've made an album to showcase the stock I'm clearing at cost price but these are COLLECTION ONLY, CASH ONLY items. I'm back in the office at the beginning of August so if you message between now and then you may not get an immediate response. Collections by appointment only after August 3rd. LA FIN - It's time to say goodbye. Thank you to everyone who came to see us this weekend - we appreciate all your good wishes and kind comments more than you can know. We will miss bringing Europe to Wainfleet but we can't keep fighting the post-Brexit reality; however much we want to! We're closing the door on 20 years of happy, successful trading and 7 years of pop up events in Wainfleet. We wish you all good health and happiness. Thank you so much for your support today. There are just two more chances to visit before we close for the last time. We're open Saturday and Sunday from 10.30 am. This beautiful nativity set is by the famous Erzgebirge family. A real find! A bientôt.

The shop is packed full again ready for opening tomorrow! There are loads of pieces at £1, £2 and £5 so be sure to come along for a rummage. We're open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10.30 am to 5 pm. We're also selling some of our shop fittings, seating and tables. Hope to see over the weekend!
