Another one of our summer projects! ☀️

This time, we transformed a Learning Resource Centre into a bright, welcoming and flexible space designed to suit different ways of learning!

From bold yellow curved seating for group work to colourful stools, cafe style tables and dedicated study desks, every area has been designed with a purpose.

Whether students want to collaborate, concentrate or simply enjoy a good book, there’s a space for everyone!

We love how this one turned out!

It’s Tuesday, and I wonder how many people are already wishing they didn’t have to go into the office! 😂

We spend such a huge proportion of our lives at work, yet so many offices haven’t changed in 20 years. Rows of desks, uncomfortable chairs, harsh lighting and very little thought given to the people using them every day.

There’s so much talk about employee wellbeing and getting people back into the office, but surely the environment itself plays a huge part?

I’m not saying a fancy coffee machine and a few plants will suddenly make everyone love coming to work! 😂 But creating a comfortable, flexible and welcoming space can make a real difference.

These pictures show how we use our own office at Werk Solutions Limited. We’re fortunate to have a space we can adapt depending on what we’re doing, but I genuinely believe even the smallest offices can be made to feel more inviting without spending a fortune.

Maybe instead of asking why people don’t want to come into the office, we should be asking what we’re doing to make them want to!

What does your workspace look like? 👀

We’re doing BRILLIANT again!

We’re really excited to be back supporting BRILLIANT Festival as their School Furniture Partner.

For us, it’s never just about furniture. It’s about creating flexible, inclusive and inspiring spaces that help young people feel comfortable, supported and ready to learn.

It’s brilliant to be working alongside so many organisations who all share the same passion for improving education and creating better opportunities for young people.

We can’t wait to see everyone in Liverpool on 10th November and be part of BRILLIANT once again! 👏

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.

Work gets busy. There are always deadlines to meet, jobs to finish and another thing waiting to be done. It is easy to ask someone “How are you?” in passing without really stopping to hear the answer.

Today is a reminder to take that extra minute and check in properly.

You do not need to know exactly what to say or have all the answers. Sometimes just listening, without judgement, can mean more than you realise.

At Werk Solutions, we know that looking after the people around us matters just as much as the work we do.

If you are struggling, please know that you are not alone. Samaritans are available free of charge, 24 hours a day, on 116 123.

Check in with your colleagues, your mates and yourself.

Another Summer project completed at Werk Solutions Limited😁

This one was a little different, as the space was being designed specifically for the Student Services team. It still needed to work as a practical office, with proper workstations, storage and privacy for the team, but we didn’t want it to feel like a typical office. We wanted to create somewhere that felt calm and welcoming for the students using it too.

The softer finishes, planting and natural tones help take the edge off the space, while acoustic screening gives each workstation a little more separation without closing the room off.

We also incorporated a private meeting pod, giving staff and students somewhere discreet to have those conversations that need a bit more privacy, without needing to leave the Student Services area. Even the storage has been worked into the design rather than simply placed around the room, helping us make much better use of the available space.

The result is somewhere that feels calm, comfortable and welcoming, while still doing everything the Student Services team needs it to do day to day.
Because when you’re designing spaces that support students, how a room feels can be just as important as how it functions.

Really pleased with how this one came together 👏

PROJECT REVEAL...

Really pleased with how this recent college common room project has come together.

It’s been a real pleasure working with the college to bring this space back to life and turn it into somewhere students can properly enjoy spending time between lessons.

We wanted to create a space that felt completely different from a traditional classroom. Somewhere students could relax, catch up with friends, work together or simply have a bit of downtime during a busy college day.

Spaces like this are such an important part of college life. Having somewhere comfortable and welcoming to relax, socialise and spend time between lessons gives students a space they can really make their own and enjoy throughout the day.

It’s always great seeing a design go from the initial ideas and plans through to the finished room, especially when you know it’s going to be used by students every single day.

Seeing spaces like this finished also makes me think how much I would have loved something like this when I was back at school! Things have definitely moved on since then 🤣

A great project to be involved with and one we’re really proud of at Werk Solutions.

We hope the students love their new common room as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it 💚

Please share your thoughts with us, I really enjoy hearing what you all think!

Another independent learning space complete!

Designed to give students more choice in how and where they learn, with a mix of collaborative tables, quieter work areas, high seating, acoustic panels and storage that doubles as seating.

Not every student learns best in the same environment. Creating spaces like this gives them somewhere to focus, collaborate or simply have a change of setting.

A great example of how schools can turn underused areas into really valuable learning spaces.

It’s easy to admire the finished result.

The completed office. The transformed classroom. The successful business. The award. The growth.

What often goes unnoticed are the hundreds of small decisions that made those outcomes possible.
Turning up prepared.
Listening before speaking.
Following through on promises.
Paying attention to the details others overlook.
Learning from mistakes instead of making excuses.
Doing the right thing, even when nobody is watching.

In business, consistency builds trust.

Clients remember whether you answered the phone when you said you would. They remember whether you delivered on time. They remember whether you were honest when challenges arose.

Success rarely arrives because of one extraordinary day.

It comes from showing up with the same standards, the same work ethic and the same commitment, day after day.

l’ve always believed that reputation isn’t built by what you say about yourself, it’s built by what you consistently do for others.

So here’s my question: What’s one small habit that’s had the biggest impact on your career or your business?

29/07/2026

l’ve been thinking about something recently... why is the staffroom often one of the most overlooked spaces in a school?

We spend a lot of time talking about classrooms, and rightly so, but the space where teachers and support staff can grab a coffee, catch up with colleagues, prepare for the next lesson or just take five minutes is just as important.

A staffroom doesn’t need to be fancy, it just needs to work. For me, that means a space that feels organised, comfortable and free from clutter. Somewhere people can clear their heads for a few minutes before the next bell goes, rather than feeling like they’re sat in another classroom.

This is a recent staffroom we designed with exactly that in mind. A practical, welcoming space that supports the people who spend every day supporting our pupils.
Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference to how a space feels.

What do you think makes a great school staffroom?
