I am restoring this lovely 1930's writing bureau for a customer. Lots of damage on it, it's made in England and the veneer is very thin, a couple of mm in places so it has been a real challenge. It has a battery acid burn on top as you can see in the photo.

At last I am getting around to doing some restoration.
I am restoring this bow fronted mahogany chest of draws ç1780
I am changing the handles as the ones on there are cheap reproductions and incomplete. I ve sourced original antique handles from the same period that probably came off a similar chest as replacement.
I ll post photos once fully restored 😉

Here's a review"Jason is a genius at restoring furniture and for a reasonable price when compared with what other people charge. He did a beautiful job stripping and re-polishing my 1920s cedar wood bureau. I can highly recommend him. Liz Lightfoot, Richmond upon Thames

This is a really good example of a late Victorian three tier library carousel c1880/90. It's made from oak and spins beautifully. It was purchased by a Methodist minister in 1900 at an estate sale in the north of the country. It's been very well looked after by the same family ever since. It could be a great show piece for an antique book collector.

1930/40's Mahogany chest of draws with brass military campaign handles.
This chest was dark brown when it first arrived in the workshop.
I stripped it right back and then used linseed oil and wax on the Draw Fascia which brought the grain out. Then French polish on the draw surround to give it a two tone textured affect . As you can see the grain on the Fascia is outstanding and it flows through the piece beautifully. The campaign handles I 've added to set the whole tone which I think works really well.
