Great day watching Will and the Aberdeen Angus bulls in the main ring. They won a few rosettes which was great. Not easy to manage given their size.

A bit of a late post after a busy week. But I have to share our new showroom window display.
Each time we change the window Susan and I spend sometime chatting through ideas. Mostly our thoughts start with a wallpaper, then we choose the fabrics for cushions and lampshades, making sure that the colours reflect the seasons, and we choose fabrics that we know everyone loves.
The window display is such a huge advantage for the showroom, and we love the feedback from everyone that comes in.
It has been almost four years since I opened the showroom and I am so grateful for the support from my clients and customers.
As we move through September and into the cooler months there will be lots of new homewares to help you create a warm and cosy home, all be it lighting, cushions and decorations as well as our bespoke curtain and blind service.
We have had a busy year so far, and that is set to continue through the next few months so do allow plenty of time to discuss any requirements that you have for blinds and curtains.

We have a new sign just inside the entrance to the showroom and I’m so pleased with it. The perfect colour and gorgeously made!

We have installed so many sheer curtains and blinds this year. They dress windows and doors with a subtle elegance. Not too heavy, just enough to add some colour and texture to a room.
The eyelet heading makes sure the folds of the curtains are neat and the curtains stack back clearing the door.

Welcome September!
August went by in a blur of hot summer days and a house full of fur. Fabulous fun with this bunch. Meeting up with Pennie Withers and Ted (Charlie and Lola’s brother) and lots of swimming in a local stream.

Thankful that the weather is cooler now and looking forward to what the new season holds.

It’s seems to have been summertime for months now and although we so desperately need the rain it has been wonderful to eat out every evening and not need a coat!
We celebrate the seaside every year with a blue coastal window display. And everyone loves it. The challenge is taking a photo without my reflection and the pretty cottages opposite glowing in the sunshine.

Each season brings new homewares and gorgeous fabrics. We still have a few cushions in our sale to make space for the autumn collection. And as always if there is something you like in the window then get in touch and we can put it aside.

Behind the scenes the heat has been challenging for my ladies in their workrooms and my team of fitters on hot days. So I am always grateful for their hard work. I say all the time I couldn’t do this without them and it’s true. This has been an incredibly busy year for the bespoke curtains and blinds. With some wonderful projects large and small.

We are planning the September window this week which is always exciting.

Bespoke curtains creating a layered, flexible design. The curtains on the large bifolds are floating so can be moved from side to side to create more privacy when needed, and can also be kept clear of opening doors. We installed two independent tracks for both the bifold and the French doors. The rear curtains are pencil pleat, the front curtains are slightly thicker and are cartridge pleat heading. Scroll through to see a closer view.
The finished design works so well with the room scheme. It still feels cosy, even though the beautiful fabrics are sheer.

We have spent a few days this week in Devon. Part work and part just enjoying the South Hams countryside and beaches.
We spent almost every summer in this beautiful house when our three children were younger. And it’s a pleasure to help Rosemary with changes to the curtains and blinds in her home. Auton Court is available to stay in throughout the year. (Check out Toad Hall cottages for more information)
