The beautiful thing about living in our little village on the edge of the Cotswolds is that we are proactive about community events, this weekend being no exception !! Come to our little weekend on Sunday 14th June for traditional tea, cake and ploughman’s lunches, take part in the children’s wildlife trail and treasure hunt at the chapel. Visit the wildflower meadow in the church yard and then finish with a visit to the village hall artisan market for a variety of local artists, makers, producers and plants to peruse at your leisure with a glass of Pimms or an ice cream while the children play games in the garden! Nothing screams Cotswold Country Village Life more than this event, it’s practically Midsummer without the murders 👍🇬🇧🫶🏻🍦🎨🐝🪻

With the weekend brightening up why not join us for Oxhill’s little weekend on Sunday 14th of June 11 to 5pm. We will be serving tea, cakes and ploughman lunches at the Chapel, with a treasure hunt and children’s wildlife trail. After that nip down to the Village Hall for the Artisan Market championing local Artists and Makers selling gifts, artwork, textiles, leatherwork, ceramics, glass ware, handmade natural skincare and home made honey. We will also have wine or water and sweet tombolas a kitchen garden plant sale children’s games and we will be serving Pimm’s and Ice Creams. Why not come and join us for a lovely summer family event with something for everyone.

Still working on this one…. I produced a starling flight painting last year but wanted to turn my focus from hedgerow birds to birds that visit wetlands and water bodies. As Swallows feed on the wing they often frequent sources of water and reed beds to drink and catch flying insects. Having recently attended Robert Macfarlane’s talk on his book ‘Is a River Alive’ at the Stratford literary festival and seeing the alarming channel 4 drama dirty business, like many others it’s turned my interests to water as an important habitat for wildlife and what little things we can do to celebrate our rivers, wetlands and other water bodies and their dependants. Swallows over the Avon, Gelliplate print and paint on board, still more to do 👍

A date for your diary now the glorious weather is upon us, we are once again hosting a little summer event as part of Oxhill’s little weekend. The Artisan Market will be returning to the village hall in Oxhill from 11 - 5 pm on Sunday the 14th of June showcasing a range of artisan products from ceramics and glass to art and leatherwork including felting and gifts, botanical skin care and locally produced honey. We will also be serving Pimm’s and Ice Cream from the village hall. Ploughman’s lunches tea and cake will be served all day at the chapel where there will also be a plant sale, tombola, children’s treasure hunt and wildlife trail. It’s always a lovely summer village event, not to be missed !

As I have had so much interest in my workshop creating rock pools on a Gelliplate I have released another date !! Sunday 12th October 10am to 2pm 🙌🙌🎉

Come and join me for a Gelliplate printing workshop on Sunday October12th from 10 to 2pm to create a beautiful rockpool painting at Oxhill Village Hall in Warwickshire. We will create our Rockpools by mono printing layers on paper using a Gelliplate and completing the piece with some hand painted shells. The workshop is £55 per person with paint, paper and gelliplates provided as well as refreshments. All the participants will need to bring is a few small artists brushes and an apron.
