It started with Knitting, and then moved onto Cross stitch and in recent years has moved more into paper crafting. I get enjoyment from taking a blank card and creating something specific and ultimately giving cards to put smiles on the recipient’s faces. Over the last year I have been asked to make specific cards from friends to pass on to others. This Christmas I have received lots of comments on cards I have sent out, hence my decision to try and make them available to others. I am a mum of two boys and also work part time (which quite often feels like full time !) but my escapism is my card making, and other handmade crafts. I have placed a selection of cards available for sale and also a portfolio of previous cards I have made, these obviously can be recreated if required. I ask one thing - if you do require a special bespoke card for a specific person/or hobby, please give me enough time to create it. They do take time and I do like perfection so some have ended up in the recycling bin before....

But it’s not just card making - in recent years I have made a large number of woollen items - both crocheted (Crochet By Chrissie) and knitted (Knits By Krissie), plus vinyl designs on items such as mugs. I am also a volunteer for Octopus For A Preemie, making crocheted Octopus for premature babies. My local hospital needs 70, (yes seventy !) per month. Recent card commission received to make a personalised for a special birthday.

I was provided with a few key details to include , which always makes my job easier but also enjoyable to create having the recipient in my mind.

Another workshop prepping activity, this time Paper Baubles.

Glitter glitter everywhere but definitely a fun make , with endless colour options, I even got some double sided patterned paper and created a smaller bauble.

I will definitely be making more - but maybe without the glitter 🤣

A day prepping for Christmas workshops, first up a felt wreath.

Didn't realise how satisfying it is stabbing felt with a sharp needle, created 3 felt stars, each one improving as I perfected the art of adding colour and detail, all will be added to a rattan wreath with ribbon. My mind is now thinking gingerbread man as the next stabbing (sorry felting) project.

So today instead of hosting a workshop, I was the customer learning a new skill.

Drawing, painting anything free hand is not my thing normally, but its good to get out of your comfort zone sometimes and try new things.

So a Wellington Boot watercolour workshop.

Was quite pleased with my drawing effort, they even looked like Wellington boots, the first attempt with watercolours the liner smudged a bit, but the metallic colours were beautiful and I love the brushes.

After the session ended I did another piece , appreciate its not perfect but definitely an improvement 🙂 a relaxing Sunday afternoon of craft.

When you purchase a craft metal die , and love how it looks, but how you can adapt it, and it even moves.

When you can't help yourself and instead of the previous football themed Dancin Moose, I've gone down the Corporate route of design.

So there is a Manager/Store meeting today, where all the stores where asked to create a stocking, featuring a theme of where their store is located, ie a coastal store could be beach/sea related, Norwich the Cathedeal etc.

Watford - what is Watford known for ? It used to be a Printing and Brewery town but not any longer. My initial thought was Football and Watford FC , but my final decision was Harry Potter as we now home to Warner Brothers studios.

So my first stocking was using my reliable Cricut digital cutting machine and of course glittery vinyl, (check the video in comments to see the sparkle).

I thought my job was complete, but then we got some self striping Sirdar Harry Potter Yarn in store , so my manager had a further idea, so we doubled our contribution by crocheting a Gryffindor stocking.

Following on from my earlier post regarding the new Sirdar Harry Potter self striping scarf yarn.

After completing the crocheted stocking for my Boss Zoe, I still had about half of the ball of yarn left, so couldn't resist my initial scarf idea.

There is a pattern included with the yarn on the ball band, but I decided to try a knitted stocking stitch design scarf, end measurement 140cm , so with a whole ball you could achieve a really long scarf.
