Our second overlocker class is happening as we speak! The wonderful (former Savile row tailor!!) Stephen is sharing all his expert knowledge about overlockers and how you can use them to their full extent, so everyone in the workshop today can go home at the end of the day and confidently use their own machine on all their future projects!

The heaters are on, the fairy lights are twinkling & most importantly we’re out of the stormy weather! (I’ve even closed the shop door today!)🫣

Want to understand your overlocker better? Join our next workshop!
Join us on Friday 23rd October, 9.30-3.00 for a day full of overlocker tips & techniques.
You’ll learn:
• What does an overlocker do and how does it do it.
• Adjusting the overlocker to produce different results.
• Threading the overlocker.
• Changing the thread colour.
During the day you will produce sample pieces showing what the overlocker can do and learn how and where it is used when sewing together a garment. When correctly adjusted and understood they are a great addition to your sewing. And of course, specific questions about your own current sewing project are welcome.

….just a tad wet out there today ☔️
But listening to the rain & doing some knitting or sewing does sound like a lovely, cosy idea! I must admit I do love the sound of rain… at least when I’m inside in the dry! Enjoy the cosy vibes if that’s what you are up to today, or if you’re out in it today, stay dry!🙈

Darker autumnal days do mean the fairy lights can come out in all their glory!✨

CALL OUT TO YOU LOVELY CROSS-STITCHERS!

Hello!
I have had a lovely lady come in who needs a small detail in a gifted cross stitch piece fixed.
The fix:
There is a date that needs changing from 20, to 29.

Cross stitch isn’t my speciality, and although I could attempt the fix, I would much rather see if there are any lovely talented cross stitchers that may be able to assist with this. (Especially as I’m rather snowed under with shop jobs leading up to Christmas)🙈

Look at these!!!!!🥹 how darn cute!!! The lovely Shelley made these super cute trousers from our needlecord fabric (100% cotton). She altered the pattern so the top of the waistband has a little frill & added a really cute rose front and centre - I love them! I want to make one in every colour for my little niece!! (And maybe a matching pair for me too!)😆

Look at these!!! Janet and Debra did Cathy’s beginner quilting workshop and I’ve got the pics to show off their amazing work! How brilliant are they! Well done ladies on a successful first quilt, I hope these are the first of many, and that you both now feel super confident to make many more quilts, I cannot wait to see all of your next fabulous creations!
