Occasionally, this job gives me the opportunity to work on projects that are about so much more than interiors. This is one of those projects.

Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside this very special couple as they transformed their home into a place of comfort, peace and healing following the devastating loss of their only child, Jamie, to su***de.

Experiences like this are a powerful reminder of why I do what I do. It’s never just about beautiful spaces or impressive budgets. It’s about creating homes where people feel safe, supported and able to simply be.

Thank you, Dinah and Pete, for trusting me and allowing me to be a small part of your journey. It has been an honour. 🤍

A little trip to London for some interiors inspo (not a lot in Nottingham unfortunately!). A gorgeous day and lots of steps. Great to finally get to The Mix by Bert & May | Tiles | Reclaimed | Bespoke with some other gorgeous brands being showcased - Tori Murphy Ottoline Pluck Kitchens Curiousa Farrow & Ball and I also came across HØLTE on my travels too which was a little bonus. A little feature in this month on renovation tips. Mine… Early planning!! Soooo important!

So many of my clients come to me once their extension is finished… and they’re left wondering how to actually make the space work.

The truth is, bringing an interior designer in at the start of your renovation isn’t a luxury — it’s what saves you time, stress, and costly mistakes later on.

Because once the dust settles, you don’t want to realise the lighting isn’t where you need it, the layout doesn’t quite flow, or the room would work so much better if key elements were positioned differently… but now everything’s fixed in place.

It’s those frustrating (and often expensive) decisions that could have been avoided with the right guidance from day one.

I just popped in to visit one of my clients to see how their room is coming along (they’ve project managed this one themselves using my concept design).

So please with this incredible wallpaper by - it’s just stunning and looks beautiful alongside the Calke Green walls and woodwork in Beverly by which really makes the original details stand out (check out the door latch 😍).

Just a few finishing touches to go! 😊

The brief here was to make a very large bright room feel more cosy. My clients had fallen out of love with the space and found they hardly used the room. They loved this wallpaper and we picked out the deeper tones of the design and added some rich colour to the remaining walls to draw the room in. We then brought in textures with a new carpet, rug and a large but super cosy chaise sofa.

My clients are really happy with the new design and love using this room now, which is great to hear 😊

We’ve been busy on site this week transforming this study into a beautiful haven! Can’t wait for the pretty bits to happen next week (wall lights, carpet, feature wallpaper and a lovely big desk so my client can rekindle her passion for sewing and other hobbies). Keep watching for updates!
