More brilliant local businesses backing us on the 25th ♥️

The support for this year’s Aloha Summer event has honestly been something else, so here’s another round of thank yous to the people who have got behind us.

, , Willo T Williams, Glenn Cavill Architecture | Bespoke Homes UK & International, Hollies Salon West Kirby, Debs Paterson, REVITALASER - EXPERT SKIN, BODY & LASER CLINIC, SDS Rejuvenate MediSpa, Tom Phillips | Anxiety Hypnotherapist and Willow & Blossom Botanicals.

Every one of them is a small business run by people working hard for what they’ve built, and they’ve all chosen to give something up so we can raise more for Macmillan Cancer Support and North West Cancer Research.

So please go and give them a follow and support them where you can, because they’ve really shown up for us.

Friday 25th September, 11 til 3, at our showroom on Grange Road in West Kirby. There’ll be cake, a raffle, a tombola and our bake off, which is open to everyone.

Tickets are free but we need to know numbers, so grab yours from the link in our bio 🫶🏼

I’ve fundraised every single year for 17 years now. This is why ♥️

My husband Paul died 17 years ago from three glioblastoma brain tumours. My mum died 11 years after that from brain tumour lesions.

Macmillan, for me, is about support. It’s there for families like mine. North West Cancer Research is about hope, because everybody needs hope.

I’ll be honest with you, this is still really hard all these years later. I quivered my way through filming this. But I’ve kept it in, because keeping their memory alive is exactly why me and my family and my team get behind this every year.

Friday 25th September, 11 til 3, at our showroom on Grange Road in West Kirby.

Turn up, eat cake, have a drink, be happy, be merry, and maybe have a little dance along the way. There’ll be a raffle, a tombola and our bake off, which is open to absolutely everyone.

Tickets are free but we do need to know numbers, so grab yours from the link in our bio.

Come and join me to help other people who might one day need to help you 🫶🏼

We could not do this without them 💚

Our Aloha Summer event is a week and a half away and we’ve had some brilliant local businesses get behind us this year.

Huge thank you to Mother Deli & Store, Jan Morton | Tropic Skincare, Claire Pearce-Roberts 🌻 and STRATTON for sponsoring the day and helping us raise as much as we possibly can for Macmillan Cancer Support and North West Cancer Research.

Every one of them is a small local business run by people working hard for what they’ve built, and they all said yes without a moment’s hesitation. That says everything about them and honestly it means more to us than we can put into words.

So please go and give them a follow and support them where you can, because they’ve really shown up for us.

This is going to be a kitchen. Give it a few weeks. 🔧

Right now it’s a lounge in Sutton with pink walls and wires running everywhere, because our client is moving her kitchen to the back of the house.

What you’re looking at is first fix, and it’s the stage nobody photographs, nobody talks about, and everybody underestimates.

There’s no extension going on here, which normally means first fix wouldn’t be needed at all. But this room was a lounge. It had none of the electrics a kitchen actually needs. No supply for the appliances, no sockets where they need to be, nothing for the extractor. All of that has to be chased in and run before a single unit gets delivered.

Once the kitchen goes in, Josh comes back for second fix to connect the appliances, wire up the cooker hood and put the socket plates on. That’s the point it stops looking like a building site and starts looking like a kitchen.

The two holding up our sign are Rich Storey from RS Joinery and Josh Gow at Elevate, who have been working alongside each other on our installations and doing a brilliant job. They also sent us these photos themselves, which probably tells you everything you need to know about them. 😄

And that sign goes outside every single client’s house.

We’ll be taking you through this one from empty room to finished kitchen, so stick around for the reveal.

Save this before the September chaos begins 🙃😅

Back to school means the kitchen is about to become breakfast station, lunchbox HQ, homework desk, snack bar and family meeting point all over again. 😂

And while we can’t promise calmer mornings, a few simple changes to how your kitchen is organised can make everyday family life that little bit easier.

Because good kitchen design isn’t just about how a space looks. It’s about thinking about how your family actually lives in it, where things naturally end up and what you need the space to do for you.

Which one are you sorting before September? 👇🏼

Ask someone what their favourite part of their new kitchen is and you learn a lot about the house it’s in. 🧱

For Mark, it’s the brickwork around the oven.

When we designed this kitchen with Mark and Louisa, the thing sitting underneath every single decision was keeping as much of the original house as they possibly could. The beams, the brickwork, all the character that was already there before we arrived.

So instead of boxing it in or plastering over it, we designed the hob and the extractor straight into it and let the brick do the talking.

That’s the part people tend to miss about a bespoke kitchen. It isn’t just about the units and the worktops. It’s about what you design around, what you protect, and what you decide is worth keeping hold of.

Because a kitchen in an old house should still feel like it belongs in an old house.

We are on the hunt for the best disco ball cake across Merseyside🪩 🕺🏻

Our Aloha Summer bake off is back this year and we have added a brand new category, because what is a summer party without a bit of sparkle.

The brief is completely up to you. It just has to be a disco ball cake and it has to be your interpretation of one. Sponge, buttercream, mirror tiles, edible glitter, we honestly do not mind. We just want to see what you come up with.

And this one is open to everyone. If you bake once a year for the kids’ birthdays, enter. If you do it professionally and have a cafe or a cake business, enter. There is no separate category for amateurs and pros because the whole point of the day is having a laugh and raising as much money as we possibly can.

Our judges are local business owners who have nothing to do with baking whatsoever, so it is anyone’s game, and there is a separate prize up for grabs for whoever takes the disco ball crown.

There is no sign up sheet and nothing to fill in. Just bake it, bring it along on the day, and we will do the rest.

Friday 25th September at the James James showroom in West Kirby, raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and North West Cancer Research.

Free tickets are in the link in our bio, and if you know someone who would absolutely love this, tag them below ✨

This is what happens when a client is brave with colour and trusts the process 💚

Sage green cabinetry, a dusky pink island, terrazzo running from worktop to splashback and those yellow accents tucked into the ceiling and window reveals. Every single one of those decisions was intentional and together they have created something you genuinely do not see very often.

Our designer Julia Sbyrakis worked through everything on this one from the window specs to the colour theory and the material research, and the result is a space that feels completely personal to the people living in it rather than something pulled straight off a Pinterest board.

Swipe to the end for our favourite detail, because that hidden coffee station behind the doors is worth the wait. ☕️

A huge thank you to NewView Property Development for bringing the whole transformation to life alongside us.
