Hi everyone,

I've closed my books for the moment while I wait to confirm some dates for a new venture. I'll still be running my business, but on a part-time basis if everything goes to plan.

I expect to reopen my books in around 6 weeks once I know exactly what availability I'll have moving forward.

Good old British weather AGAIN has put a stop to my current external works that I already postponed! For my clients with externals booked in im going to have to change your dates again unfortunately. I'll be in touch in due course.

Painters & decorators — what supplier/paint brand are you all using lately?

I’ve always used Tikkurila UK and honestly swear by it, one of the best finishes on the market in my opinion. But yet another price increase is coming through due to “external cost pressures” — energy costs, supply issues, Middle East disruption etc — and the jump is massive.

Even with trade discount, we’re now talking £££ for 10L on some products, which is becoming hard to ignore.

So I’m starting to look at other brands, but I still struggle to find anything that performs as well. What are you all using and rating at the minute?
