Her dressing room was designed to be a pause in the day - a place that feels considered, quiet and reassuringly calm.

The palette does most of the work here. Those soft greys wrap the space in a way that feels gentle rather than cool, while the bronze accents slip in quietly, adding warmth and a little glow when the light catches them. Nothing shouts, and that’s very much the point. It’s a room that supports the rhythm of daily life without demanding attention.

We always think these spaces should feel personal, almost restorative. Somewhere you can start the day calmly, or end it without rushing. It sounds simple, but when the balance is right, you really feel it.

Which would you choose - the bold drama of Patagonia or the softer calm of Taj Mahal? Honestly, we could never pick. Different moods, different moments, and that’s exactly why this his & hers setup works so well. Sometimes the best answer really is both!

One of the key conversations with the client was around zoning the principal suite - and getting that flow absolutely right.

From the outset, the brief was clear: this needed to feel like a true sanctuary, not one long, open stretch. So the layout gently unfolds - a separate sitting area, the bed space, then his ensuite and dressing room to one side, and hers to the other. The bathrooms and dressing rooms sit on completely separate sides of the suite, and that was very intentional.

It’s about balance. Shared where it makes sense, separate where privacy really matters. Each area has its own rhythm and atmosphere, which gives the whole suite a sense of calm and progression. It sounds subtle, but honestly, it changes how the space is lived in - and that’s always the poin

What’s one detail that instantly makes a drawing room feel more expensive?

A thoughtful colour palette.

There’s something about a room where the colours are quietly working together - nothing shouting for attention, everything feeling intentional. It gives the space that softer, more grown-up atmosphere that clients always comment on.
For us, it’s less about trends and more about mood. How you want the room to feel at the end of the day. Calm. Comfortable. A place you actually want to sit and stay.

It’s a simple idea, but when it’s done properly, it makes all the difference.

The main colours in this bedroom are blue and orange - a combination we’ll always love seeing together, as they naturally complement one another. There’s a quiet sense of masculinity to the palette, but it’s by no means limited to that. Softened with layered textures, warmer tones and considered detailing, the space feels balanced rather than bold, confident but still inviting.

We often find that blue can anchor a room beautifully, while orange brings just enough warmth and energy to stop it feeling too serious. And here, that interplay really matters. It creates a bedroom that feels grown-up and grounded, yet comfortable enough to properly unwind in at the end of the day.

It’s one of those colour pairings that looks effortless, but when it’s done well, it makes all the difference.
