I’m churning out digital paintings on Procreate (this is one of them) for my writing schedule for my MirMarnia book online. While I’m enjoying finally getting my writing project out there, it’s frustrating that my author instagram account gets perhaps one like on each post while rarely using the link in that profile to visit Substack or my website to explore the story. On Substack it’s a slightly better situation in which my posts are getting read by a 10th of my subscribers while the rest ignore what they subscribe to. I’m publishing my content on Royal Road as well which is about the same as having a conversation with a brick wall. Sharing content online these days feels like opening my front door to let strangers into my home to eat my food and sit in my chairs for them to leave without once noticing that I exist. It’s so exasperating. I’m rethinking everything about just being online.

Teaching at the V&A in 2 hours. These are the bones of today’s lesson on Donatello’s Judith & Holofernes - three exercises built from de Sausmarez principles on structural clarity. Class prep is its own kind of drawing practice. 📐✏️
