Creel Insta post text

A little bit of willow in a rather special setting… 🧺
I was delighted to lend some of my handmade willow baskets to Harriott & Solomon to be used as props for their immersive experience at the I Love North Shields Vintage Fair.
I love seeing my baskets taken out of the workshop and brought into different settings, especially when they help create an atmosphere and tell a story that is deeply set in our local costal heritage.
And it felt particularly fitting that some of the baskets were Fishwife-inspired, with such a strong connection to our local North East fishing heritage.
It’s also reminded me how much I love making these traditional pieces…
So, coming up at The Workshop, I’ll be teaching a two-day Traditional Willow Fishwife’s Back Creel workshop.
Two days of weaving, traditional techniques, lots of lovely willow and the chance to make your very own beautiful, substantial creel.

It was a fun filled magical day, their first NGS open garden day. The gardens are magnificent and lovely to meet the head gardener again
Lots of people, lots of cake, lots of plants.
And yes, a few bird feeders were made through the day laurel from is a natural.
Stunning weather, stunning day. ☀️☀️☀️

This is our only summer Seaweed Pressing Workshop. You will find lots of pinks and purples and there's nothing nicer than a lush piece of green Sea Lettuce. Sea Oak, Bunny Ears, Egg Wrack, Irish Moss, my fave. An abundance. Please click on the bio to book. Sea you there😂 Sunday 7th June, 1pm.
