Some have asked how to make a nose cone for a whirligig which incorporates the slots for the blades.

In this example, I have utilised some 18mm marine plywood x 3 in number cut circles.

One has been "fluted" with the four blade slots and the other two left blank. All glued up, the turning, sanding and polishing begins.

A good dose of "Yorkshire Grit" and some old rags, gives it a rock hard coating and shine like your grandads bald head.

So after the success or the "Frog" resin table for the garden, I thought it would be good to try again, now the weather is getting a little warmer.

I started with a 24 inch diameter mould, and casting this in concrete with embedded legs suitable for the garden when finished.

The skulls I have cast to infil the top, still work in progress clearly, but will do a clear resin pour, or two to make this completely flat. and UV resistant.

I will post when finished.
