A fantastic transformation on this one.

The original fireplace was oversized and disproportionate to the room, with bulky cladding that dominated the space without adding any character. We removed the existing fireplace, carried out alterations to the chimney breast to create a more balanced feature, and finished it with a cast beam and a clean, contemporary opening ready for the room to be decorated.

The end result is a fireplace that feels in proportion with the room and creates a much stronger focal point while actually making the space feel larger.

Sometimes removing the excess is what makes the biggest difference. What do you think?

What a great job for some of the nicest people you could ask to work for. The original stone fireplace was to overbearing and the fireplace opening was to small so the clients asked if we could remove it create a more cottage feel. We think we got it just right. How about you?

This was fun. The customer wanted to change the overall look of the fireplace. So we disconnected the stove, ripped up the raised hearth and 4” thick concrete base! Then fitted a new lower hearth of the customers supply. Refaced the recess in cut brick tiles and popped the stove back in. Very please with this one.

Not every job needs to be high-end to be done properly.

We’ve just finished installing a simple, low-cost stove for a customer who supplied their own appliance. With oil prices where they are right now, their existing heating setup was becoming unsustainable, so we worked with them to find a practical, affordable solution that would genuinely make a difference day to day.

While a lot of our work is on large estates and complex installations, we still really enjoy these fundamental jobs — helping people heat their homes safely, efficiently, and without unnecessary cost.

Good advice, done properly, goes a long way.
