10 little pups because today I am celebrating...

Who would have thought, after discovering a new hobby in my 40s, I would be here, in my lovely sunny studio, marking such a milestone!! I am so lucky to play with clay every day and it's all down to my wonderful friends and family (and the IT dept) and people like you, so Thank You Very Much ❤️

Now I'm off to raise a large G&T in the sunshine to myself. Cheers 🍸

Tilly Mopapots and I have been crazy busy these last few months, getting ready for Dogstival at the end of May. The cockers and sausages are done but we still have plenty more pups to glaze, including many of your recommendations!
I don't have too much more to throw but am hoping to have everything ready to glaze by the middle of April. My poor shelves are groaning but we're having the best time working together ❤️

2 weeks ago, a very bad driver reversed up my daffodil bank and shattered my lovely, hand made house sign. In response, I went 2 better and threw some new ones on the wheel. Lovely smooth circles for PPHQ and GC. The IT dept turned his hand to a little woodwork and made supports for them and here they are in all their shiny glory. Surely no-one will drive past and miss the driveway now...

When some 🤬🚚 reverses up your daffodil bank and runs over your house sign, there's only one thing to do...make 2 more!

The last sign lasted about 10 years so I have high hopes for these. I've decided to make one for the house and one for PPHQ. Hopefully no one will get lost trying to find me now.

It may be my birthday but I've been distracted today by my first official collab with Tilly . I threw the treat pots and lids and Tilly made these adorable dogs to sit on top as little handles. These are practice designs, but we will be making lots more with many more breeds for in the summer. Which dogs would you like us to make next?

Over the last couple of weeks, I've put the finishing touches to my glaze wall! Gone are the days of rummaging through the bottom of my trolley, finding the perfect shade for someone.

I built the shelves, cut the wood, drilled the holes and made all the super cute test tiles. This is now proudly displayed in my studio ready for glaze week at the end of my New Year 5 week courses.

Happy New Year, everyone!!!

I think it's still ok to say that as I have been absent from SM for a few weeks, following a super, crazy busy end to the year.

I took time off over the Christmas period to hunker down with family and friends and am back, baby, and ready to go.

This morning, I spent some much needed time in the studio throwing...guess what?

I am delighted to tell you that we will be selling these beautiful dog bowls at which will take place in the New Forest over the late spring bank Holiday weekend.

Any of you who have visited my studio know what an integral part Monty the Cocker plays in welcoming you all and you may have also spotted his hand thrown dog bowl.

I'm going to be making quite a few of these over the coming months! Tilly has made me a beautiful paw print stamp which you can see being used in the 2nd photo.

I've got so much more to tell you about, but that will do for now.

Day 1 done , and we had such a good day. Over 2000 visitors came to see us and all the other talented traders. The overwhelming feeling was that people were delighted to meet the crafters and chat about their processes and skills. There aren't many pure Makers Markets around these days so this is a real treat! There was such a lovely atmosphere and I was thrilled to be there for my 3rd year. We're doing it all again tomorrow (except for Ben, who sold out of his delicious liqueurs) Open 10-4.30 and it's indoors so you'll be warm and dry ###

My last crazy pyramid of the year. I shall only throw pieces in groups of 10 from now on...
The Chubby Robins are finished, just in time for the on Saturday and Sunday.
These mugs are hand thrown, painted and glazed in my lovely studio and cost £25 each. A labour of love but now I can't imagine Christmas without them.
Let me know if you're going to be this weekend. I can't recommend it enough. So many gifts and it's all indoors. If you can't be tempted by pottery, paintings and jewellery, perhaps Ben's liqueurs will draw you in...
