It’s a question we’re sometimes asked. When you ask us to fit your floor, you’re trusting our judgement as well as our workmanship.
As specialists in LVT, we choose to work exclusively with gluedown. Here’s why:
✓ A securely bonded floor
Each plank or tile is adhered to a properly prepared subfloor, rather than relying on interlocking click joints to hold neighbouring pieces together.
With 25 years in the flooring industry, we’re yet to find a click LVT locking system that we’re confident enough in to recommend our clients spend their money on.
✓ Preparation we can be confident in
We assess the subfloor, check moisture levels and carry out the preparation required for the chosen flooring and adhesive. The work beneath your floor is every bit as important as the finish you see.
Click LVT is sometimes presented as a way to avoid subfloor preparation. Although some products can tolerate more surface variation, they still need a suitable, properly assessed base. Clicking the boards together doesn’t make problems underneath disappear.
✓ Greater freedom with design
Herringbone, borders, feature strips, bespoke detailing and combinations of laying patterns. Gluedown gives us the flexibility to create a floor around your home and your ideas.
✓ More straightforward local repairs
If a plank or tile becomes damaged, it can usually be individually lifted and replaced, without dismantling adjoining rows to reach it.
✓ A neat finish around the edges
Click LVT needs expansion gaps and must remain free to move around fixed fittings. Concealing those gaps means adding beading or removing and refitting skirting boards, bringing extra work and expense. Gluedown allows us to achieve a neat finish to existing skirting without the same perimeter expansion requirements.
Click systems have their place, and reputable manufacturers offer them. But we’re particular about what we recommend and fit, because we want you to feel confident spending your money with us.
We put our name to every floor we fit. Gluedown is the method we trust, from the preparation underneath to the final detail.
Beautiful flooring, expertly installed.
