This pattern has reminded me how much I love crochet; the mindful rhythm of the stitches, the texture, seeing how the colours in these two skeins meld together so beautifully, and how sexy my Ebony Furls Crochet hook looks…

I’ve had this skein for a very long time…it’s from Vicki Brown very first run of Make 100 Skeins!
I frogged it from an old WIP and had every intention of working with it last weekend at Stafford Wool Gathering, but despite reading the pattern before I left home, I only went and forgot to bring the second skein that my chosen pattern required…

Yarn: 85/100
Merino/Nylon 4-ply

…and whilst I was able to liberate this skein from my stand (no shame in my game), there was no swift available for winding it up, so it had to wait until I got home.

As much as I LOVE how skeins look caked up and ready to go, I’m excited to see how these two look held together!

Seeing everyone in their stunning crochet and knitwear at Stafford Wool Gathering over the weekend might have lit a fire under my bum, ‘cos I caked up something, grabbed my trusty Furls Crochet hook and my fave project bag from Textile Design Forward Project Bags | Tammi Williams and got a few rows in during lunch!

I copped some gorgeous merino fibre grab bags from Ruth Ruth Sprague right before the show opened on Saturday!
Andrew gave me these super comfy socks on Saturday morning and I also purchased three skeins of gorgeousness from him too on Sunday afternoon, after eyeing them up all weekend!

I’ve added a skein of fluff from yours truly, and they told me that they want to be a(nother) Muse Tee by Amanda Solomon.

The lady at the front desk at the storage unit looked at me funny ‘cos I am never there this early (just after 9am), but baby I got thangs to do today!

Lucille has been unloaded and I took time to tidy up my unit ‘cos it’s been a bit manic in there since the summer.

A couple of bags of yarn are a bit lighter thanks to all of you wonderful people who have treated yourself to a at one of the few shows I’ve been part of this year - I don’t do many, and you might not see me at some of the larger and more well-known shows…I’m a ‘get in where you fit in’ kinda girl, and I show up where I’m welcomed without question and I rock with folks who I think are genuinely good people.

Stafford Wool Gathering was my last event for 2026 - and what a great event it was!
Thanks to the team for their planning and organisation (doesn’t go unnoticed), to all the vendors I caught up with, hugged and shared space with - and to everyone who came and admired, squished and purchased a lil bit of FLYY Dyed!

Speaking of, I’ll be focused on showing off FLYY Dyed locally in 2027.
I have a couple of events planned, but if you’re hosting an event that needs some DOPE yarn, or know of any markets or craft fairs, don’t gatekeep - put your girl on - there are enough seats for us all, okay?

Now lemme go prepare for this Birthday Vacay!

All set up Stafford Wool Gathering - it looks SO good in here today; if you’re coming to Stafford you’re in for a real treat!

Come and see me at stand F8 - as you come through the main doors, look for a sign on the balcony that says Bayley’s, and I’m kinda in the middle of the hall on the corner of the row.

The weekend is almost here, and that means it’s almost time for Stafford Wool Gathering!
It’ll be my first time vending here and I’m excited to experience everything this festival has to offer.

In amongst my usual explosion of colour you’ll find these beauties; the latest chapter of - a super chunky and squishy skein that’s perfect for making yourself a very cool hat like the one shown here, Tomodachi by Noriko ✨🦄.
If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one of these, I have a pattern code for Tomodachi with your name on it!

If you’re holding on for the miracle of an Indian Summer, then the last slide shows something you might be looking for - a gorgeous vegan blend of Pima Cotton and Abaca fibre.

This will be my last show for 2026, so come out and show FLYY Dyed some love!
