✨ Feel Good Friday ✨

Waking up early and having the urge to cast on a cable project.

My go-to ribbing is a 1 x 1 twisted rib, but maybe I should have drank more tea before starting it this morning!

Most people know my love of Scheepjes stone washed yarn, but I thought I'd try Yarnsmiths pebble haze, and it's so incredibly soft. It's going to be the cosiest cabled sweater.

Today’s reminder: make time for the things that make you feel good.

Happy Feel Good Friday lovely makers! 🧶🪡🧵

✨️ WIP Wednesday ✨️

A little peek at what’s currently on my needles because apparently I needed another project!

I've actually started gift knitting. I know! Who am I?!

This one is definitely a work in progress, but I’m already loving how it's all coming together.

This is the start of Hadrians cowl by Kay Jones of The Bakery Bears.

I'm using Scheepies stone washed yarn in colourways Smokey quartz & Sodalite.

(Even as a yarn dyer, it's nice to use commercial yarn once in a while!)

What are you working on this Wednesday?

✨ A Story in the Making… ✨
And so, my own little story has begun.
I’ve made a start on my Tunisian crochet blanket for A Story in the Making MAL that I’m hosting.
There’s something rather lovely about watching the first few stitches turn into the beginning of a blanket — not quite knowing yet what the finished story will look like.
I’m using a beautiful mix of soft, earthy, and slightly whimsical shades, and I’m already loving how the colours are coming together.
This is only Chapter One. There are plenty more stitches, colours, and hopefully a few crochet adventures still to come.
I can’t wait to see everyone else’s stories taking shape too.

What are you making for A Story in the Making?

Just came across these photos on FB.

My home town & also the place I stood on a Wednesday morning when I had a market stall for my previous cake business in 2012-2017.

Its also the town of many repatriations for which it is known for and for which it gained the Royal title ❤️

✨️ It's feel good friday! ✨️

Learning to Tunisian Crochet.
I’m stepping outside my usual crochet comfort zone and learning something new — Tunisian crochet.

It's definitely a learning curve, but I’m loving the texture it creates, and I’m determined to get the hang of it. This little swatch is all part of getting ready for The Story in the Making MAL which starts on September 1st.

Sometimes you have to be a beginner again, make a few wonky stitches, pull things back, try again, and that’s all part of the story.
So, here’s to learning, experimenting, and creating something new.

Are you joining me for The Story in the Making MAL?

Dr. Seuss — The storybook of strange & wonderful things.

WIP Wednesday- Sock edition!
Another week of holding myself accountable for the amount of things on needles!

A total of 15 socks! 😳🤭

There’s something so satisfying about watching a skein of yarn slowly become a pair of socks — eventually!

What’s your current WIP?
Are you knitting socks, starting a new project, or trying very hard to finish something? 👀

Yarns are all my own hand dyed self striping.

The project bag is my own design Craft Caddy.

✨️Introducing The Unnamed Arts.
A Practical Magic inspired Collection.

Step beyond the garden gate and into a world where magic is woven through family, friendship, sisterhood, and the quiet rituals of everyday life.
The Unnamed Arts is a four-part yarn collection inspired by the enchanting world of Practical Magic — candlelit evenings, secret gardens, old spellbooks, mysterious potions and generations of women who carry magic within them.

Each of the four parts tells a different chapter of the story, drawing inspiration from moonlit forests, botanical gardens, ancient rituals, crystal balls, dried herbs, flickering fires and the deep, mysterious colours of the night.

Think mossy greens, midnight shadows, smoky plum, woodland brown, candlelit gold and touches of mystical silver — palettes created for those who love their crafting with a little darkness, a little romance and plenty of magic.

Four chapters.
One enchanted story.

Now available to pre-order.
