Mr W loved a power cut as it meant sitting like this with a glass of red🍷 and some tunes. So even though our power just came back on me and Holly are staying put

Thanks to the storm the power is off in Asby, apparently until Tuesday🤞It’s like living with ghosts as the sockets keep turning on and off and I briefly get enough power for the WiFi and some plug in fairy lights over the fire to work but not enough for anything else. But I’m not exactly sufffering here. I have a gas hob, log burners, candles, solar power in the van to charge my phone and enough battery powered lamps, lanterns and fairy lights to illuminate the whole village 😂

Tbh I’m looking forward to it getting dark as it’s going to look so cosy in here tonight…. ☺️

Although I love love love other peoples over the top Halloween decorations I’ve always been too much of a snob to decorate my own house. Autumn is more my thing darling… 😂 But.. the wee one is visiting and Halloween is her favourite holiday so what the hell 😈 👻 🕷️ 🎃 💀
Ps bargains galore in Lidl 😜

I’m still getting over my cold so instead of doing cardio and strength training I’m deep cleaning my house 🤣 Yesterday was my bedroom, which included dismantling and cleaning the antique chandelier, all 123 pendants, and 279
Individual crystals. If I didn’t love it so much and the amount of light it reflects it would be getting changed for something a lot easier to clean…

Hands up if you’ve got the nasty stinking cold that’s going around our neck of the woods 🤚 I’m on day 5 and starting to feel almost human again so today I treated myself to a little autumn decoration project. I’ve had these Scandi lanterns for years and have always liked their simplicity but this month I decided they needed a little ‘zhuzhing up’ (I had to google how to spell that… 🤣). I used autumn garlands from Dunelm (£18), which I cable tied to the lanterns. Then attached wicker mushrooms and acorns from Home Bargains (£2.99 for a pack of 6), using cocktail sticks, then a few orange and white faux gerbera that I already had. The LED candles are remote controlled so no faffing around at night taking the candles out to turn them off. I love autumn decor so much I wish Christmas wasn’t on the horizon 🤣

Autumn has also crept into my guest bedroom with another beautiful seasonal bedding set from The Range, paired with raspberry red sheets and pillow cases from Dunelm. This one is brushed cotton and super snuggly… ❤️

I do love seasonal bedding and couldn’t resist this autumnal set from The Range paired with soft pink sheets and pillow cases from Dunelm and a faux rabbit fur throw from Amazon. All modelled by Holly who is not feeling herself today after eating something suspect on top of Sale Fell… 😔

Fabulous to see Scott & Brassey making The Guardians “10 of the best railway station pubs in England”

Converted from Victorian buffet bars, ticket offices and waiting rooms, these station pubs offer beautifully restored interiors, real ales and a slice of railway history

Autumn is here, which means a change of door wreath. Couldn’t resist the matching hanging basket. Both from Home Bargains 🍂
